This game will be played at Citizens Bank Park at 6:45 PM ET on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.
Why Bet The Phillies:
✅ Zack Wheeler makes his season debut Tuesday, looking to build on his excellent 2021 campaign. For the first time in his career, the 31-year-old righty made it to the All-Star and finished second in the NL Cy Young voting. He went 14-10 with a shiny 2.78 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 32 starts, leading the majors in innings pitched (213.1) while posting the most strikeouts in the National League (247). Wheeler is 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA in eight career starts against the Mets.
✅ Philadelphia’s relievers were pretty much awful in 2021, so the Phillies decided to fortify their bullpen in the offseason. Jeurys Familia, Corey Knebel, and Brad Hand should help the Phillies to avoid late-inning meltdowns. On the other side of the ball, the Phillies added sluggers Kyle Schwarber and Nick Castellanos, who already went yard in 2022. The Phillies’ lineup should be among the most powerful in baseball.

✅ The Phillies have dominated the Mets in the second half of the 2021 season. They’ve won six of their last seven encounters with New York. Also, the Phillies have gone 11-5 in their last 16 home meetings with the Mets and 9-3 in their previous 12 showings at Citizens Bank Park.
New York Mets
The Mets opened the 2021 MLB season on a high note. They won a four-game NL East series at Washington, but the Mets also blew a huge opportunity to sweep the Nationals. Their pitching staff has dominated the Nats through all four contests, but Pete Alonso’s error cost them a victory in the closer.
Alonso went 0-for-4 last Sunday to complete his awful day in the office. Carlos Carasco tossed 5.2 innings of a one-run ball, while Francisco Lindor got his first dinger of the season, but the Mets ultimately came short, 4-2, blowing a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth.
Philadelphia Phillies
The Phillies started the new season with a three-game home set against the Oakland Athletics, who lost a lot of important players in the offseason. After a 9-5 victory in the opener and a 4-2 win in the middle contest, the Phillies suffered a disappointing 4-1 defeat in the closer last Sunday.
Philadelphia recorded only three hits in that loss to the A’s, while Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, and Nick Castellanos all went 0-for-4. Jean Segura launched a solo home run in the ninth inning, his second no-doubter in 2022.
