Sky vs Sun Game 4 Betting Pick
This game will be played at Mohegan Sun Arena at 8:00 PM ET on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
In a pivotal Game 3, the Chicago Sky won on the road against the Connecticut Sun to take a 2-1 lead in their best of five semifinal series. On Tuesday night, the Sky have a chance to close out this series and get to the WNBA Finals for the second straight year. But the Sun will have something to say about that. In our WNBA picks for Tuesday’s Game 4 action, we look at Sky vs Sun Game 4, as the Sun look to force a Game 5.
Why Bet The Sky:
✅ Connecticut got the style of game they wanted in Game 3, a slow and plodding game. But they could not take advantage of it, going over five minutes without scoring in the fourth quarter en route to a loss at home. Here, the Sky will do a better job of generating some pace and will come away with this game to close this series out and get back to the Finals.
✅ The stars for the Sun have not been consistent enough in this series to help them win games over the Sky. In Game 2, Dewanna Bonner was a disaster, while Jonquel Jones and Alyssa Thomas shot a combined 6/22 from the field in Game 3. The lack of consistent offense from Connecticut will give the Sky room for error as they pick up a win to advance to the championship series in the W.

✅ Chicago has not shot the ball well from three-point range for the most part in this series, and still has a 2-1 lead. They made just six of their 24 long-range shot attempts in Game 3, but still beat the Sun on their home floor. Even a decent shooting night in Game 4 will be enough to seal this series up for the defending WNBA champions.
Chicago Sky
The Chicago Sky have not been at their best in the WNBA semifinals against the Connecticut Sun. But they have not needed their best to generate a 2-1 series lead going into Tuesday’s Game 4. Chicago has simply matched the physicality of the Sun on the defensive end of the floor when needed, and have enjoyed enough clutch plays from Candace Parker and Kahleah Copper to push the Sun to the brink of elimination.
In Game 4, the Sky will hope for more from Allie Quigley to give themselves the inside track to advancing past Connecticut. Quigley was a disastrous 1/11 from the field for three points on Sunday in Game 3, but the Sky were still able to win that game. If Quigley looks more like her old self from three-point range in Game 4, this series might not make it back to Chicago.
Connecticut Sun
The Connecticut Sun had chance after chance to take Game 3 and a 2-1 series lead over the Chicago Sky. But they went ice cold offensively in the fourth quarter of that game, allowing the Sky to stay in front down the stretch and close that game out. Now the Sun cannot lose another game in this series, or their season will once again end at the hands of the Sky in the semifinal round of the playoffs.
To put it simply, the Sun will need Jonquel Jones to be better in Game 4 if they are going to have a chance to force a winner take all Game 5. Jones, last year’s league MVP, scored just six points on Sunday and was left on the bench for many of the defining moments of the fourth quarter. If she cannot score both from the paint and the outside in Game 4, the Sun’s season will end in disappointing fashion yet again.
