Aces vs Storm Game 4 Betting Pick
This game will be played at Climate Pledge Arena at 10:00 PM ET on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
The Las Vegas Aces and Seattle Storm played an epic Game 3 of their WNBA semifinal series on Sunday afternoon. It featured controversy, missed free throws, and some unreal shot making down the stretch in regulation and in overtime. With the Aces winning that game, they come into Game 4 with a 2-1 lead and the chance to close this series out on Tuesday night. In our WNBA betting picks for Tuesday, we look at Aces vs Storm Game 4 in what should be another closely contested matchup out West.
Why Bet The Storm:
✅ By all accounts, the Storm should have won Game 3 on Sunday. Had Tina Charles made her free throws down the stretch, or had too much time not been put back on the clock in the final two seconds, the Storm would have a 2-1 lead going into this game. Barring more incredible luck for the Aces in this game, the Storm will get the job done to force a fifth and final game of this series.
✅ Betting on the Storm in this game is betting against Chelsea Gray having a game like she did in Game 3. Gray made 12 of her 21 field goal attempts on Sunday, and hit every big shot that the Aces needed her to. Expect her to regress to the mean a little bit, so to speak, and for the Storm to take advantage with a victory.

✅ Bench production is still a concern for the Aces coming into Game 4. They had one bench player score in Game 3, and have shortened their rotation to dangerous levels in the second round of the postseason. Expect that strategy to come back to bite them in Game 4, as fatigue will be a huge factor in the second half of this second game in three days against the Storm.
Las Vegas Aces
The Las Vegas Aces looked dead in the water in the final second against the Seattle Storm in Game 3 of this series on Sunday. But they made the plays they needed to make to force overtime and win the game in the extra period. Now, the Aces have a chance to close this series out and get to the WNBA Finals in Becky Hammon’s first year as their head coach.
It has been all about the starters for the Aces in this series, as they have played seven or eight players per game at most so far. Hammon’s refusal to play Plaisance or Rupert at any point has been a huge issue for me, as simply getting her starters more breaks would be huge later in the postseason. But with the Aces going up 2-1 on Sunday, it is hard to argue against what Hammon has done, as her team is a game away from a chance to play for the title.
Seattle Storm
The Seattle Storm had Game 3 against the Las Vegas Aces won multiple times. But two missed free throws from Tina Charles and an inexplicable clock management error from officials gave the Aces a lifeline to get the game to overtime, where the Storm wilted down the stretch. In Game 4, the Storm will be fighting for their playoff lives, as they look to prolong Sue Bird’s career for at least one more game.
Bird, by the way, was phenomenal in Game 3 for the Storm, making five threes and nearly winning the game with less than two seconds to play in regulation. But a lack of efficiency from Jewell Loyd, who shot 6/20 from the field in Game 3, sort of cancelled Bird’s big game out. Both will need to play well to help the Storm avoid elimination on Tuesday night.
