Raptors vs Pistons
The Pistons travel to Toronto to take on the Raptors in an Eastern Conference matchup. This is something of a lost season for the Pistons. They remain at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, but have many valuable young assets on the roster. It is likely it is not too many more years, if any, before they shift to competitiveness. They will look to turn things around down the stretch and continue to develop those young assets.
The Raptors on the other hand are in the thick of the playoff race. They are currently the 7 seed in the East. Their task down the stretch will be to catch either the Celtics or Cavaliers to avoid the play-in portion of the playoffs. The Raptors have dealt with injuries since the all star break and have been off form. It would appear they have to wait one more game to get a couple key pieces back in the lineup.

Why Bet The Pistons
✅ The Raptors have been off form since the return to action from the All Star Break. Yes they recorded wins in their last two games, but we must consider the opponent. They played the gutted version of the Nets in both of those games, which might be the worst team in the NBA while missing all three of their stars. The Raptors have seen Fred Vanvleet in and out of the lineup of late, and OG Anunoby out with a finger issue. In their absence, Pascal Siakam has struggled mightily. He has simply shot woefully from the field since the return to action.
✅ The Pistons have been one of the league’s worst teams through the lens of a full season. That said, they have had a steadying touch from veteran play of late. Jerami Grant has played well of late. As has Kelly Olynyk, bringing competence to the second unit front court that has not been there all season. Additionally, rookie and top overall pick has leveled off his play after much more inconsistency earlier in the season. The spike in competitiveness of late should stick down the stretch for the Pistons.
✅ With the Raptors not playing well and likely missing pieces, the 8.5 they are laying is a huge figure. It is more likely than not both Fred Vanvleet and OG Anunoby sit out once more. Even if either does not, they will likely be playing in a limited fashion. The Pistons have also won each of the first two matchups between these teams this year. Take the points with the Pistons.
