This game will be played at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse at 7:30 PM ET on Sunday, March 6, 2022.
Why Bet The Cavaliers:
✅ Fred VanVleet has been out due to injury for the Toronto Raptors, and the Raptors offense has really struggled without him in their lineup. VanVleet’s outside shooting makes it difficult for opposing defenses to pack the paint against players like Pascal Siakam, and they have not had to guard both in recent games. VanVleet is questionable again here, and his lack of reliable health of late will hurt the Raptors again.
✅ Cleveland, meanwhile, has Darius Garland back in their lineup after he missed some recent games due to injury. Without Garland, the Cavs were caught in a rut offensively against the Timberwolves, but should have a better showing with their All-Star guard back in their lineup against the rival Raptors.

✅ The Cavaliers have the third best record against the spread in home games this season. Toronto is one of the better teams at covering the spread on the road as well, but the uncertain status of VanVleet will make the Cavs’ proficiency at covering the number on their home floor the trend more worth paying attention to here.
Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors have lost two straight games, which has directly coincided with the recent absence of Fred VanVleet from their lineup. Without VanVleet available, Toronto has lost consecutive games to the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic, two of the worst teams in the NBA this season. Now, the Raptors hope to have VanVleet back and hope to put an end to their two-game win streak.
Whether or not VanVleet plays, the Raptors will hope that Pascal Siakam can continue to pour in the points offensively. In the last two games, Siakam has averaged 31.0 points per game, keeping the Raptors afloat without their All-Star point guard. But Siakam will need some help in order for the Raptors to avoid a fourth straight loss, given how good the Cavs are at protecting the rim.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers have had struggles of their own of late, losing six of their last seven games. The losses of Caris LeVert and Darius Garland have certainly impacted the Cavs, as has a difficult part of their schedule. Cleveland has lost twice to the 76ers and once to the Timberwolves, Hornets, and Hawks during their recent stretch, all of whom should be playoff teams when all is said and done.
To help the Cavaliers end their recent run of poor form, they will need to utilize their advantage in the paint against a Raptors team that lacks a true center. Forwards like Pascal Siakam, Chris Boucher, and Precious Achiuwa have length and athleticism, but should have a hard day against the combination of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. If the Cavs can win the rebounding battle, they should be in good shape to get a much-needed victory.
