Hornets vs Cavaliers
This Eastern Conference matchup between the Hornets and Cavaliers features a pair of teams that will be present when the postseason tournament rolls around. Only one of these teams is going to be able to avoid the play-in portion of the playoffs. This gives this matchup a bit of extra importance.
The Cavaliers continue to be without Darius Garland, after already losing Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio for the season. Garland should be back soon, but he will be out for this game. The acquisition of Rajon Rondo has not been enough to put a true band aid on the point guard position for the Cavs. While it will not help tonight, look for the team to acquire a point guard ahead of the trade deadline.
The Hornets should be back to full strength for this game. A returning Gordon Hayward will mean all of their key pieces will be available. This will be a welcome change as the Hornets dealt with many player absences over the past couple months.

Why Bet The Hornets
✅ The Hornets are finally fully healthy after having no such luck for the past couple of months. Gordon Hayward should return meaning every key piece will be available for the Hornets. Despite not having their full complement of players, the Hornets have won 9 of 14 games 5 of 8 at home. A full strength Hornets team is quite rightfully favored over a Cavs team missing their back court.
✅ The Hornets have one of the wider home/road splits of the Eastern Conference playoff teams. Overall they are a far better team at home. The Hornets play very fast, which is a contrast to the Cavaliers style. The Hornets will be looking to outscore the Cavs as opposed to wholly outplaying them. The absence of the of capable guards for the Cavs will be a problem.
✅ The Cavs are still a quality team, but the lack of high end production from the point guard position has shown up plenty on the road. They have lost three straight road games. What is more alarming than the losses themselves is who those losses have come to. The last two road games have been at the very low end Pistons and Rockets. This matchup bodes terribly away from home. The Cavs can’t get Sexton back soon enough, and they will. However they will continue to struggle until that time.
