Alexandr Romanov vs Jared Vanderaa Betting Preview
On the heels of Alexandr Romanov’s fun wrestling war with Juan Espino, the promotion opted to give him a much easier fight this time. This matchup almost feels like it was hand picked by the Romanov camp, and the wrestler is absolutely going to have his way. Romanov has scored at least two takedowns and won each of his first three UFC fights. He has had extended control time in each of those fights, and has finished two of them on the floor. Note the Espino fight went to the scorecards early due to an accidental illegal strike, and that was the one that he did not finish. Back to the matchup at hand, Romanov is going to have his way in this fight. His opponent will put up essentially zero resistance once put on the mat, and Romanov will work ground and pound and submissions until one sticks and the referee is forced to intervene.

Jared Vanderaa was able to bounce back against a fellow striker in his second UFC fight. That is not the point of emphasis here. His debut was against a grappler in Serghei Spivac, and Spivac absolutely iwned Vanderaa in the grappling realm. Spivac took him down three times and ultimately ground and pounded Vanderaa out in the second round. This matchup with Romanov is similar, yet worse. So very much worse for him. Romanov is a much larger human and more of a wrestler. He also has heavier ground and pound and has more of an arsenal of submissions. Vanderaa has absolutely nothing off his back and he will be crushed by Romanov on the floor.
This is simply a great stylistic matchup for Romanov. Of course we are never playing a flat line at the level this one sits at, but this fight is not going the distance. Romanov will continue to roll and likely get it done on the mat in the very first round. If he needs a second round to do it, no matter. In any event, we are going to lay the -250 and take Romanov to win ITD.
