Wake Forest vs NC State Prediction
Last time out, Wake Forest visited Louisville and left with a beatdown, losing 48-21. Louisville scored the first 13 points of the game, but Wake woke up and had a 14-13 lead heading into halftime. The Cardinals came out of the half on fire as they scored five touchdowns and ended up leading 48-14 going into the fourth. Quite an impressive quarter by Louisville. Two Wake QBs combined to go 26/44 for 310 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions in the loss. Defensively, the Deacs allowed 410 total yards and recovered one Louisville fumble.
NC State hosted Virginia Tech and escaped with a 22-21 win. It was a lifeless first half that saw no points scored in the first quarter and the Wolfpack take a 3-0 lead into the half. The Hokies woke up at halftime and scored 21 unanswered points in the third quarter, but NC State scored the final 19 points to get the win. MJ Morris went 20/29 for 265 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception on the night. Thayer Thomas had 10 catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Defensively, NC State allowed 293 total yards and did not force any Virginia Tech turnovers.
Series History: Wake Forest won the meeting last season, but NC State still leads the all-time series 67-42-6.
Pick: It was a rough week, last week, but I like the Deacs to bounce back and get a comfortable road win.
