Why Bet The Pelicans:
✅ The loss of Devin Booker has had a huge impact on the Phoenix Suns in this series. Without Booker, they have lost two of three games they have played in this series, and needed a huge fourth quarter from Chris Paul to pick up their lone win without him. Here, the Pelicans should be able to keep things close once again without Booker active.
✅ In three of four games in this series, the Pelicans have held an edge in offensive rebounding. Jonas Valanciunas has been arguably the most influential player in this series for either team, and he is likely to make another huge impact in this contest as he has shown the ability to get second shots up against Deandre Ayton and JaVale McGee.

✅ The reserves of the Pelicans have arguably been better than those of the Suns in this series so far. Players like Jose Alvarado and Larry Nance have been just as impactful as players like Cam Johnson off of the Suns bench in this series. If that continues, the Pelicans could very well win outright on the road and take a 3-2 lead.
New Orleans Pelicans
This series was expected to end quickly for the New Orleans Pelicans, but the Pelicans have proven that they are not going anywhere without a fight. Willie Green’s team has come back from a game down twice in this series so far, tying things up at 2-2 after a huge second half in Game 4. The question now is whether or not the Pelicans can jump out to a lead for the first time in this series.
Second chance points have been very important to the success of the Pelicans in this series, as they have dominated that category for the most part. If the Pelicans can win that category again, they could move within a game of shocking the basketball world against a banged up Suns squad.
Phoenix Suns
For the Phoenix Suns, things have not gone as planned in the first round of the playoffs, as they expected to sweep the Pelicans. Instead, they are playing in a pivotal Game 5 where a loss would put them a game away from elimination. If the Suns want to avoid that scenario, Chris Paul is going to need to step up and lead his team to a win.
Paul shot 70% in the fourth quarter of Game 3 to give his team a 2-1 lead, but was unable to replicate that performance in Game 4. With Booker gone, the duo of Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum may be more dangerous than the duo of Paul and Deandre Ayton. Paul will need to be extremely efficient to change that despite the loss of the best scorer on the Suns.
