The West Coast Conference is a league that has been dominated by the Gonzaga Bulldogs in its recent past. But there are always a couple of teams that have the potential to threaten them in the WCC, with this year being no exception. Here, we look at the 2024-25 West Coast Conference championship odds and break down how to bet on this top-heavy league in the futures markets.

What To Bet In The West Coast Conference

In the WCC, the question is always whether Gonzaga or the field will be the best option when betting on futures markets. This year, the Zags do not appear likely to win the WCC regular season title, though. That honor is expected to go to the Saint Mary’s Gaels, who are in the top spot in the regular season standings heading down the stretch. The Gaels have a comfortable cushion over the rest of the league and it would take a huge meltdown for them to fail to finish in first place in the regular season.

As for the WCC tournament, that could be a different story. Gonzaga is clearly not at its best this season, but the allocation of byes in this conference tournament always makes sure that Gonzaga is around deep into tournament play. If Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s end up in the final against one another, that game could go either way with the conference tournament title on the line.

Conference realignment has become a major storyline in the WCC in addition to the play on the floor. Washington State and Oregon State have joined this league after the Pac-12 was chopped up and most of its teams fled for greener pastures. But the pendulum will swing the other way for the WCC in the near future, as Gonzaga will join a new version of the Pac-12 starting in 2026, which will raise questions as to whether or not Saint Mary’s will join the league as a basketball-focused member at some point as well.

West Coast Conference History

The West Coast Conference boasts 11 teams in basketball at this point in time. The conference has been dominated by Gonzaga, who has appeared in the championship game of the conference 30 times, going 21-9. Saint Mary’s (5-11) and Pepperdine (3-4) are the only other teams to have won more than two conference championships. Either Gonzaga or Saint Mary’s has won every West Coast Conference title since 2009.
