The Phoenix Mercury look to wrap-up their WNBA Semifinals game against the Las Vegas Aces tonight at Talking Stick Arena in Phoenix. The game tips-off at 10 p.m. EST.
Betting Odds
The Aces opened as 1.5-point favorites and FanDuel now has the Mercury -1.5. The total has held pretty steady at 171.5.
Las Vegas Aces
The Aces have hardly looked like a championship contender the past two games, getting blown out by the Mercury both games. The Aces didn’t shoot well last game and their defense was nothing to get excited about, although it was better than when they allowed 117 points in Game 2.

Liz Cambage looked more like herself in Game 3 after missing some time with COVID and slowly working her way back into game shape, but the rest of the team played like crap. Cambage was the only player to shoot 50% from the field, unless you want to count Destiny Slocum making her lone shot of the contest. A’ja Wilson was 2 for 14 from the field, Jackie Young was 3 for 9 and the beat goes on.
Phoenix Mercury
Even though the Mercury cruised to the victory in Game 3, they got some poor shooting from their guards, with Skylar Diggins-Smith just 2 for 12 and Diana Turasi just 3 for 9. The fact they won by 27 with two of their big three struggling so much isn’t a great sign for the Aces.
The Mercury crushed Las Vegas on the boards last game and held the Aces to just three offensive rebounds. Phoenix had a 58-29 rebounding advantage overall and if they can do that again, this series is over.
Las Vegas at Phoenix Pick
These were the two teams I had winning it all before the season began, but while Vegas was one of the favorites, the Mercury were a bit of a longshot, so from that perspective, I’m better off if Phoenix wins. But I have this one 82-81 for the Aces and with the switch to the Mercury being the favorite, will go ahead and take a stab on the Aces +1.5 at FanDuel.
