Three WNBA games on the slate for Thursday and we’ll take a look at the game between the Dallas Wings (6-8) and the Indiana Fever (1-14).
Dallas at Indiana Betting Odds
The Wings are favored by 8.5 points and the total on the game is 162.
Dallas Wings
After a strong start to the season the Wings have come down a little bit and now find themselves at 6-8 on the season, but have a very winnable game in this one against the Fever. The Wings are led by Arike Ogunbowale, who isn’t afraid to shoot the ball, which isn’t always a good thing when she’s in 2-point range, but usually works out well when she’s throwing up 3-pointers, as her season field goal percentage of 39% is almost matched by her 38.3% shooting from 3-point range.
Dallas has Marina Mabrey (15.4 points) and Satou Sabally (13.1 points), along with Allisha Gray and Kayla Thornton, who are both averaging more than 9 points per game. The Wings shoot 37% from 3-point range on the season and should have some success against the Fever, who are allowing 41% from long range.
Indiana Fever
The Fever are bad offensively and defensively, and it’s evident in their record. They did play a decent game against Washington last time on the floor, although it looked like they played to cover the spread and not to win, not fouling when down 4 with 40 seconds remaining and the Wizards with possession of the ball.
Kelsey Mitchell and Tiffany Mitchell led the Fever in scoring, with 15.5 and 11.4 points respectively, while Teaira McGowan scores 11.1 points. The Fever have four other players averaging 6 points or more, but as a team shoot just 41.3%, while allowing 46.4%. The Fever are worse from 3-point range, hitting just 26.5%, as you have too many players shooting 3s who shouldn’t be. Kelsey Mitchell leads Indiana with 95 3-point attempts, but is hitting just 28.4%, which is well below her career average of 35.4%.

Dallas at Indiana Pick
I have this one 87-84 in favor of the Wings, so will go ahead and play the over 162. This one was 161 when I started typing, so as has been the case on several occasions this season, we’re getting a slightly worse number, but think the Wings should have some success putting up points.
