In the NBA, you need a Big Three to be a champion. Curry-Klay-Durant. LeBron-Kyrie-Love. Wade-Bosh-LeBron. Duncan-Parker-Ginobli. Is it a stretch to say that Resorts Sportsbook is the champion of New Jersey? Maybe, because there are a lot of competent sports betting apps out there, but Resorts also has DraftKings and BetStars under its umbrella via licensing from the Resorts Atlantic City property.
All three apps are powered by SBTech and form a triumvirate that is currently unmatched in the Garden State. Like the other two apps, and all of the New Jersey-based apps, you do have to be located inside the state borders of NJ in order to place your bets.
This app isn’t quite as polished as DraftKings and BetStars, which is one of the reasons why its marks aren’t as high for us as some of the other apps that are out there. It is still a no-frills app with its own advantages, like parlay bonuses and it ties in pretty well with the Resorts Casino app if you want to play the variety of online games there.
Give It A Try
One of the most enticing elements of the Resorts Sportsbook NJ app is that the deposit bonus is $25. Most of the operators in New Jersey are offering an Alexander Hamilton (that’s a $10 bill, for you non-trivia players out there) for a bonus. Instead, we get an Andrew Jackson and an Abraham Lincoln from Resorts, so that’s cool.
The first bet is a risk-free bet up to $250, which is certainly competitive with the other apps that are out there. Partner DraftKings does offer $500, but there are others out there that only offer a $100 risk-free bet, so Resorts comfortably falls somewhere in the middle.
Resorts clearly incentivizes the use of this app and that isn’t a bad thing, since it does lack some of the functionality and the convenience of the others in the space.
Like many of the online sportsbook offerings, you can get an Android app via the Resorts website and can download the iOS app in the iTunes Store. There is browser capability for placing bets as well.
Bet It All
The Resorts app has an extensive catalog of betting options. You can bet all of the major US sports, like MLB, NFL, college football, college basketball, NBA, and NHL, but you can also find a lot of European wagering options, motor sports, mixed martial arts, soccer, tennis, golf, and a whole lot more.
All bet types are available as well. Once you sort through the login screen and get to the menus, the Resorts app feels a lot like all of the other mobile sites and apps that you are familiar with. You can bet sides, money lines, totals, parlays, teasers, round robins, props, futures, and all of those money-making endeavors that bettors want action on. That includes in-play, live betting as well.
There is another betting option unique to Resorts. The FastPick betting option. With FastPick, you will get to bet on a matchup of player vs. player and see different head-to-head betting odds. You have to pick at least three, but can play as many as 10. The more picks on your ticket, the more money you can win by getting all of them correct. Think of it like a fantasy sports head-to-head prop betting matchup. Sounds easy enough, right?
Or Don’t Bet It All
One of the biggest sticking points when PASPA was around was how the overturning of the longstanding statute would create a new wave of problem gamblers. The Responsible Gaming tool on the Resorts app prevents that from happening. Like with the Caesars app, you can set daily, weekly, or monthly limits on how much you can wager.
That is one of many great safety and security features within the Resorts app. You can set two-step authentication, which includes a secret four-digit code, akin to a PIN, that will add another layer of security to your account and your personal information.
Customer service is also available 24/7 to aid with any problems that arise.
Funds for Fun
Once you get your bankroll all set up, that’s when the fun begins. Keep in mind that you can withdraw your funds in the same manner in which you deposit them, so that could determine the way in which you decide to fund your account. ACH/e-check, Mastercard or Visa, Neteller, a banking transfer, PayNearMe, and a Resorts Card are all options, but many in New Jersey do prefer to go the PayPal route. You don’t have to use a PayPal balance, as you can use their credit card processing feature to get all set up.
Again, your withdrawal method is going to be the way that you deposit, so PayPal really does make it as convenient as possible. If you do deposit a certain way and wish to withdraw another way, you can get a check or you can head on down to Resorts Atlantic City to get a cash payout from the cage.
Promos & Rewards
Because of its tie-in with the Resorts brand in New Jersey, account holders automatically become part of the Resorts Rewards program. Every $2 worth of bets equals one point in the Resorts Rewards system. For higher rollers, both with the casino app and the Resorts Sportsbook app, you may earn enough points and loyalty to be part of the Echelon Rewards system, which has additional perks and benefits.
A weekly free bet promotion is offered, to go along with a lot of other daily promotions and opportunities to supplant your account with some bonus funds. The live casino has the best promotions through Resorts.
Why Resorts?
You know that this app is going to work and work well. While DraftKings and BetStars draw most of the fanfare, sometimes it makes sense to go against the grain a little bit. The early bugs within this app are sure to be worked out and it is aligned really well with the Resorts Rewards program and the Resorts Casino app, creating a one-stop shop for all of your gambling needs.
