Our rankings are based on firsthand testing, including real-money bets, deposits, withdrawals, and regular use of sportsbook apps. With team members in multiple legal betting states, we've tested leading U.S. sportsbooks across different markets.
Each sportsbook receives an ATS Score out of 5.0 based on six categories: bonuses, odds and features, user experience, payments, trust, and customer support.
We only rank licensed U.S. sportsbooks. Our editorial ratings determine their placement, independently of affiliate partnerships.

FanDuel Sportsbook remains our top choice for its combination of betting options, app usability, and overall reliability. Even on busy NFL Sundays, finding markets, building parlays, and tracking bets is quick and straightforward.
We've found very few weaknesses in the overall experience, although FanDuel's odds aren't always the most competitive. Regular bettors can benefit from comparing prices elsewhere.
→ Our Take: The best all-around sportsbook we've tested, with an excellent app and enough betting options to suit almost any type of bettor.

Quick access to winnings is a major advantage of DraftKings Sportsbook. Our withdrawal tests have consistently impressed us, and the sportsbook backs that up with a comprehensive selection of betting markets and a well-designed app.
There's plenty to like about the overall experience, although the customer support and restrictions on certain promotions leave room for improvement.
→ Our Take: One of our favorite sportsbooks for everyday betting, with withdrawal speeds that give it a genuine advantage over much of the competition.

For bettors who regularly visit MGM casinos or resorts, BetMGM Sportsbook has an advantage that few competitors can match. Its connection to MGM Rewards adds value beyond sports betting, especially for customers who already use the loyalty program.
Our experience with the sportsbook itself has been more mixed. The betting selection is solid, but the app falls behind FanDuel and DraftKings in speed and usability.
→ Our Take: BetMGM is worth considering for its loyalty benefits, although the betting experience itself doesn't quite match our top-ranked sportsbooks.

Fanatics Sportsbook has become one of our preferred sportsbooks for player props, particularly in the NFL and NBA. The selection is extensive, the markets are easy to find, and features like Fair Play add something genuinely useful for prop bettors.
Our experience hasn't been entirely positive, though. We've encountered reduced betting limits after consistent success, which makes Fanatics less appealing for serious bettors who want to place larger wagers regularly.
→ Our Take: A strong choice for player props, with some useful features you won't find everywhere. Just be aware that betting limits can become an issue.

Customer support is where BetRivers Sportsbook has impressed us most. Getting help from a real person is generally easier than at many competing sportsbooks, and we've found the support team responsive and helpful when dealing with account questions.
BetRivers also offers some useful features for managing bonuses and withdrawals. The rewards program is less straightforward, though, and its limited state availability makes it a less practical option for some bettors.
→ Our Take: BetRivers is a solid alternative to the bigger sportsbooks, especially for bettors who value accessible customer support and straightforward withdrawals.

Sportsbook welcome offers can provide a lot of extra value when you first sign up, but the bonuses and terms vary from one site to the next. The table below gives you a side-by-side comparison of the current welcome offers from our top-rated online sportsbooks.
Withdrawal speed is one of the biggest differences we've noticed when testing US sportsbooks. Our team has requested real-money withdrawals using several payment methods, giving us firsthand experience of how quickly each sportsbook processes payouts.
The table below shows the withdrawal times we've experienced. These are results from our own testing in 2026, rather than the processing times advertised by the sportsbooks.
About Our Testing: The withdrawal times above reflect individual real-money transactions completed by our team in 2026. Actual payout speeds vary depending on the payment method, account verification, and processing times. These results represent our testing experience rather than guaranteed withdrawal times.
DraftKings has delivered some of the quickest withdrawals in our testing, with certain payouts arriving in under an hour. However, the fastest option can depend on how you withdraw your money.
We recommend comparing the payment methods available at each sportsbook rather than relying solely on its advertised processing times.

Our sportsbook reviews go beyond the five operators featured in our rankings. Below you'll find the full list of brands our team has reviewed, including smaller regional sportsbooks and newer betting apps.
Several sportsbooks previously operating in the US have since closed, rebranded, or exited the market. We keep our historical reviews available for reference, although these brands no longer accept US sports bets under their original names.
These reviews document the sportsbooks as they operated before closing or leaving the US market. For currently available options, see our active sportsbook rankings above.
Online sports betting laws vary by state. Since the Supreme Court overturned PASPA in 2018, each state has been able to decide whether to legalize and regulate sports betting on its own.
Today, online sportsbooks are legal across much of the U.S., while a handful of states only allow limited or location-based mobile betting and others still prohibit it entirely. The map below shows where online sports betting is legal, limited, or unavailable as of October 2026.
Choose your state below for a closer look at local sports betting laws, available sportsbooks, and the online betting options where you live.
If you live in a state with limited sports betting options, there are a few alternatives worth knowing about. Social sportsbooks, daily fantasy sports, and prediction markets each offer a different way to get involved in sports, with their own rules and restrictions.
Here's how they compare.
Alternative | How It Works | What Makes It Different |
|---|---|---|
Social Sportsbooks | Make sports picks using virtual currencies. | Some offer redeemable sweepstakes prizes. |
Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) | Enter fantasy contests or make player-stat predictions. | Results depend on player performances and contest rules. |
Prediction Markets | Buy and sell contracts tied to sports outcomes. | Contract prices change based on trading activity. |
Social sportsbooks let users make sports picks using virtual currencies rather than placing traditional cash wagers. Some also offer sweepstakes-style rewards that can be redeemed for prizes, subject to eligibility and promotional rules.
The experience can resemble regular sports betting, but the rules and available rewards differ between operators. State restrictions also apply, so it's important to check where each service is available.
For a closer look, read our full guide to social sportsbooks.
Daily fantasy sports contests let you compete based on real athletes' performances. Traditional DFS involves building a fantasy lineup, while pick'em contests focus on predicting individual player statistics.
Popular operators include DraftKings, FanDuel, PrizePicks, Underdog, and Sleeper. Contest formats, prize structures, and availability vary by state, and some pick'em products face additional restrictions.
We've compared the leading operators in our guide to the best DFS sites.
Sports prediction markets let users trade contracts tied to event outcomes, such as a team winning a championship or a player receiving an award. Contract prices fluctuate based on market activity, and traders can potentially sell their positions before an event is settled.
Kalshi and Polymarket are two well-known names in this category. Their products, regulatory status, and geographic availability differ, so they shouldn't be treated as direct substitutes for licensed sportsbooks.
Our guide to sports prediction markets explains how event contracts work and what to consider before trading.
Licensed US sportsbooks provide responsible gambling tools that let you set limits on your betting activity or take a break when needed. You'll usually find these under “Responsible Gaming” or “Limits” in your account settings.
Most sportsbooks let you lower your limits immediately, while increasing or removing certain limits may involve a waiting period.

FanDuel is our top-rated US sportsbook for 2026. It combines an extensive selection of betting markets, a user-friendly app, and excellent Same Game Parlay options. DraftKings is another strong choice, especially for bettors who prioritize fast withdrawals, while Fanatics is one of our favorites for player props.
No single sportsbook consistently offers the best odds across every sport and market. Prices can vary considerably, especially on player props and less popular betting markets. We recommend comparing lines at two or three licensed sportsbooks before placing a bet, as even small differences in odds can affect long-term returns.
DraftKings has delivered some of the fastest payouts in our testing, with certain withdrawals arriving in under an hour. BetRivers is another strong option thanks to its RushPay system. Actual withdrawal times depend on the payment method, account verification, and the sportsbook's processing procedures.
Yes. You can register with multiple licensed sportsbooks, provided you meet each operator's eligibility requirements. Having more than one account makes it easier to compare odds, access different betting markets, and take advantage of promotions. Each sportsbook has its own account verification and bonus eligibility rules.
No. Online sports betting is regulated at the state level, and several states still prohibit it. Even in states where it's legal, individual sportsbooks may not be licensed to operate. You must be physically located in a state where the sportsbook accepts wagers, although you generally don't need to be a resident of that state.
