The Dallas Cowboys have made the playoffs each of the last two seasons, but flamed out in both of those postseasons with poor late-game execution. This season, the Cowboys will look to take the NFC East back from the Philadelphia Eagles. And they will aim for a good start to this season by winning Sunday’s Cowboys vs Giants clash.
Avoiding turnovers will be key for the Cowboys all season, and this week will be no exception. Dak Prescott was an interception machine a season ago, and he threw two picks in his lone appearance against the Giants in 2022. That cannot happen again here if the Cowboys want to win this game and make an early-season statement.
New York Giants
Last year, the New York Giants made the playoffs, won a playoff game, and saw head coach Brian Daboll win NFL Coach of the Year honors. That means heightened expectations for the Giants going into this year. And the Giants have a chance to prove that those expectations are deserved at home in this Cowboys vs Giants matchup.
For New York, the big question coming into this game is going to be whether or not their offense can keep up with that of the Cowboys. New York has been horrid offensively at home against the Cowboys over the last couple of seasons, as Dallas’ ability to get pressure and make plays in the secondary create a bad combination for Daniel Jones specifically. And without a strong receiving corps to lean on, Jones could be in for another rough go against the Cowboys here.
