Washington Wizards Betting Preview
The Washington Wizards missed out on the playoffs in the NBA last season, though that was partially by design. The decision to shut Bradley Beal down early and make some trades at the deadline impacted the ability of the team to win games. This year, they go into things hoping for better, as Beal returns along with a roster that they attempted to upgrade around him in the offseason.
The question for the Wizards heading into this year is if they can do enough to improve enough to make the playoffs. In the East, there is a pretty clear stratification of teams, and Washington appears headed for somewhere in the 9-11 range in terms of seeding. If they can exceed those expectations, a playoff berth could follow. Otherwise, they are destined for another disappointing campaign.

Washington Wizards Picks, Predictions & Betting News
Key Additions: Will Barton, Taj Gibson, Johnny Davis, Monte Morris, Delon Wright
Key Departures: Thomas Bryant, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Raul Neto, Ish Smith, Tomas Satoransky
The offseason for the Wizards as decent, though it wasn’t great. They brought in a couple of nice pieces in Will Barton and Monte Morris, and a veteran in Taj Gibson who could help with the culture there. Losing KCP and multiple backup point guards was not great, as the backup point guard role could be trouble for this team, but the starting lineup for this team should be solid an that is an upgrade from a season ago.
Positives & Negatives
Going into this season, the number one positive for the Wizards is the fact that they are healthy. Having Kristaps Porzingis and Bradley Beal on the floor together will be a positive for the Wizards, and the potential for Rui Hachimura to join them only makes things better. While this roster is far from perfect, simply moving in a positive direction is a good sign for a team trying to move up at least one spot to be a part of the postseason.
On the negative side, the Wizards really lack depth, especially at the guard spots. The combination of Morris and Beal is nice, but behind them are players like Delon Wright and rookie Johnny Davis, who have not had success at the NBA level before. That lack of quality guard depth is going to be an issue against the better teams in the East.
2022 Washington Wizards Win Total Prediction: Under 35.5 Wins
As nice as it is to see the key pieces of the Wizards on the floor together going into this year, there is no guarantee that they remain on the floor. On top of that, the players behind them do not provide much assurance that this team will play well when reserves are on the floor for both teams in games. As a result, the under is the way to go for the Wizards, as their starting lineup is not quite enough to cover for their shortcomings on the bench.
