Wizards vs Cavaliers Betting Pick
This game will be played at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse at 8:00 PM ET on Saturday, February 26, 2022.
Why Bet The Cavaliers:
✅ The Wizards face off against the Cavs on the second night of a back-to-back set. After a tough home matchup with the San Antonio Spurs, the Wizards will have to deal with fatigue on the road. That’s not an ideal situation for Washington, so we have to look at the Cavaliers in this spot.
✅ The Cavs are on a three-game losing streak, but they are also undefeated in seven consecutive outings on the home court. Cleveland has been terrific at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse lately, going 14-5 straight up and 13-6 ATS over their previous 19 home contests. On the other side, the Wizards have dropped five of their last eight tilts on the road. Also, Washington has gone only 6-13-1 ATS in its previous 20 outings away from home.

✅ Cleveland is one of the best defensive teams in the league, while Washington has struggled on the defensive end all season. Hereof, I’m expecting the Cavs’ D to make the difference in this clash. Cleveland allows only 106.6 points per 100 possessions (4th in the NBA), and the Cavs love to play at a slow pace, averaging 96.2 possessions per 48 minutes (25th). Furthermore, Cleveland’s defense ranks third in the league in field goal percentage (44.1%) and eighth in 3-point percentage (34.0%). Washington, on the other side, yields 112.6 points per 100 possessions (22nd) on 45.7% shooting from the field (17th) and 35.2% from downtown (also 17th).
Washington Wizards
The Wizards finished the first half of the 2021-22 season with a 117-103 victory at the injury-depleted Brooklyn Nets. They made 55.4% of their field goals and 50.0% of their 3-pointers, while Rui Hachimura led the charge with 20 points on 8-for-15 shooting from the field.
Washington will miss Bradley Beal (wrist) for the rest of the season, while Kristaps Porzingis (knee) is still waiting for his debut in the Wizards uniform. Thomas Bryant (ankle) is questionable to play Saturday, so the Wizards could be quite shorthanded when they visit the Cavs.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers started the second half of the season with a surprising 106-103 defeat at the lowly Detroit Pistons last Thursday. Lauri Markkanen had 22 points, while Brandon Goodwin added 15 off the bench, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Cavs’ losing streak.
Cleveland misses both Darius Garland (back) and Caris LeVert (foot), which is a huge blow for their offense. Rajon Rondo will get another start at PG on Saturday, and the four-time All-Star amassed 12 points, nine assists, and six turnovers in that three-point loss at Detroit.
