The Miami Heat put on a defensive clinic in Game 1 of their second round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Without Joel Embiid in the lineup, Philadelphia will need to find a way to score more consistently if they want to even this series up at a game apiece. In our NBA predictions for Wednesday night, we look at 76ers vs Heat Game 2 and determine whether or not the Sixers can do just that.

Why Bet The 76ers:
✅ Miami ran away with things late in the opening game, but the Philadelphia 76ers were competitive for a lot of this contest. They had a one-point lead at halftime, and could have won the game outright if not for the onslaught they faced in the fourth quarter. Expect more competitive basketball from Philadelphia without Joel Embiid in Game 2 and for the Sixers to cover.
✅ Tobias Harris did a great job of stepping into the added responsibility of being a scorer without Joel Embiid to rely on. He scored 27 points in Game 1, and led the team in scoring. He will continue to deliver in Game 2 in order for the 76ers to stay within the eight points needed to cover the number.

✅ Bam Adebayo made eight of his 10 field goal attempts during the first game of this series, taking advantage of the loss of Embiid in the Philadelphia lineup. Adebayo will continue to play well in this series for as long as Embiid is out, but asking him to shoot 80% from the field is not sustainable whatsoever.
Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers felt the pain of being without Joel Embiid for the first time in the postseason in Game 1 against the Miami Heat. Philadelphia scored just 41 points in the second half of Game 1, going from a one-point halftime lead to a 14-point loss in the final 24 minutes of the game. Without Embiid in the lineup, the Sixers need James Harden to step up, and he did anything but that in the series opener.
Harden scored just 16 points in Game 1 of this series, making just five of his 13 field goal attempts in the losing effort. Given how high usage a player Harden is, he absolutely has to score at least into the 20s if the Sixers are going to have a chance to even this series without their MVP candidate.
Miami Heat
Miami got off to a slow start in the first half against the Miami Heat, going into the locker room down by a point. But they locked in on the defensive end of the floor in the second half, giving themselves the advantage, which they turned into a double-digit win. In Game 2, continuing to play stellar defense will be a priority, but there is room to improve on the offensive end for Erik Spoelstra’s team as well.
Jimmy Butler played well below his normal standards on the offensive end of the floor, scoring just 15 points. The fact that Miami found a way to win by a comfortable margin without their best offensive player contributing much should be a scary thought for a 76ers team that is still trying to figure out what lineups to play without their top star available.
