There are certainly more attractive matchups in the NBA on Saturday than the one between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. But while there may be more star power in other games, this one might be one of the best to wager on this weekend. In our NBA picks for Saturday, we take a look at Thunder vs Rockets from Houston.

Why Bet The Thunder:
✅ The Rockets could be without several key contributors for this game, with Alperen Sengun and Eric Gordon missing Friday’s action against the Atlanta Hawks. Asking the Rockets to win on back to back nights while shorthanded sounds like too tall a task.
✅ Meanwhile, the Thunder are mostly healthy, have a rest advantage coming into this game, and are not actively tanking just yet this season. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is playing at an All-Star level, and he will carry this Thunder team to a win here if need be.
✅ Even with their win on Friday, the Rockets are being outscored by an average of 6.6 points per game, while the Thunder are at -1.1 points per contest. These are both thought of as bottom feeding teams, and understandably so, but the Thunder appear to be legitimately moving in the right direction.

Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder come into this weekend at 8-11, which is a huge positive given where they have been in previous years. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander comes into the weekend in third in scoring at 31.1 points per game, and the Thunder appear to have some actual positives to enjoy at this point in time. Of course, those positives would fade in a hurry if they were to lose to the Houston Rockets.
For the Thunder, playing with their relentless pace is going to be huge in this contest. Facing a Rockets team playing a back to back while missing multiple key players, there could be some tired legs for the home team in this one. As a result, the Thunder need to take advantage and run at every single available opportunity.
Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets delivered a very surprising win in their last outing, beating the Atlanta Hawks in Houston. They survived a combined 83 points from Trae Young and Dejounte Murray in that game, thanks in large part to four Rockets scoring 20 or more points. Here, the Rockets play on the second leg of a back to back at home, which will be an interesting test for their young, shorthanded group.
With Eric Gordon and Alperen Sengun dealing with injuries, bench scoring is an even bigger question mark than usual right now for the Rockets. Garrison Matthews poured in 20 points to alleviate that concern off the bench on Friday night. Whether it is Matthews again on Saturday, or someone else, bench scoring will be key against OKC.
