Miami Heat Betting Preview
The Miami Heat got to the NBA Finals last season, losing to the Denver Nuggets. But getting to the Finals was a huge win for a Heat team that needed to survive the play in tournament just to reach the playoffs. This season, the Heat saw some key departures in the offseason, and the question will be whether they can pick up the pieces and have another successful year in spite of them.

Key Additions: None
Key Departures: Gabe Vincent, Max Strus
This offseason for the Heat is more about what they were not able to do than what they were able to do. They lost Gabe Vincent and Max Strus, and their hopes to trade for a star like Damian Lillard came up short. Now they are left with a downgraded version of last year’s roster without the ability to replace any of the players that departed.
Positives & Negatives
The biggest positive for the Heat coming into this season is their culture and their ability to overcome adversity. Having Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo makes doing that a lot easier, but the Heat’s culture is one that should allow them to get through a bad offseason, as cliche as that may sound.
On the negative side, this team is seriously lacking guard depth, which will hurt their chances of making another deep playoff run. Kyle Lowry and Tyler Herro are going to have to do an outrageous amount of ball handling, and there is no telling whether or not that will work over a full 82-game schedule, especially with Herro missing time a season ago.
2023-24 Miami Heat Win Total Prediction: Under 45.5 Wins
The Heat are just not built to have a huge year this season, unless they figure out a way to make a trade for someone like James Harden in the near future. As currently constructed, there is no reason to bet anything but the under on the season win total in Miami.
