Heat vs 76ers
The Heat vs 76ers second round series returns to South Beach for Game 5. The series is tied 2-2, with the home team being the victor in each of the first four games. The Heat won games 1 and 2 by respective 14 and 16 points before the series shifted to Philly and Joel Embiid returned to the lineup. The 76ers went on to win games 3 and 4 by a respective 20 and 8 points.
After duds from the 76ers in games 1 and 2 and a dud from the Heat in game 3, game 4 was the first game truly up for being taken in the series. The player that stepped up to the plate to knock it out of the park was James Harden. His 31/7/9 line and playoff best play was outstanding. He put the 76ers on his back to even the series.
Needless to say, this gridlock breaking Game 5 cannot be understated for its importance. That perhaps holds more true for the Heat than the 76ers. The Heat would be facing an elimination road game if they were to lose Game 5 in Miami Tuesday night.

Why Bet The Heat
✅ The first and perhaps most significant factor working in the Heat’s favor is the expected output of James Harden. He had his moment in the series, but a repeat of Game 4 is unlikely. Harden hadn’t fully struggled against the Heat this season, but was far from a difference maker in each of the other four games. That includes his time on Brooklyn this season, and the output simply was not there. Harden averaged less than 17 points per game in those previous four games, and did not shoot well, particularly not from three. Harden shot a combined 19 of 51 and 7 of 27 from three point range. Look for a return to that normalcy in Game 5.
✅ The 76ers as a team will likely have a difficult time scoring once again in Miami. The Heat have won the last three home games against the 76ers by an average of 15.7 per game. It is the overall scoring output that is the concern for Philadelphia. In those last three games the 76ers average a measly 92.3 points per game. Of course the Heat are a very good defensive team, but have a special way of slowing the 76ers, particularly at home. The slower pace of both teams tilts as a Heat advantage when these two teams meet at FTX.
✅ The Heat role players will likely regain effectiveness at home that they lacked in Philly. First, Kyle Lowry did not play in the first two games in Miami. He played in both games in Philadelphia but lacked effectiveness in his return from injury. The team will certainly get more from him in Game 5. Tyler Herro was also a completely different scorer in the home games vs the away games. In the two home games he shot 15 of 27 to accumulate 43 points at home. Those figures plummeted to 9 of 27 for 25 points in the pair of road games. Look for Herro to crank the scoring back up in Game 5. The Heat will have the luxury of not constantly calling on Jimmy Butler for scoring as they did in Philly, but did not need to in the games in Miami.
