Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat – Game 6 Pick, Odds & Prediction – 10/11/20

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Miami Heat – Game 6 Pick, Odds & Prediction – 10/11/20

The Los Angeles Lakers blew their first opportunity to win the championship last Friday, so they will take on the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the 2020 NBA Playoffs this Sunday.

Each of the previous two contests between the Lakers and Heat was a proper nail-biter, and we expect to see more of the same Sunday, as the Heat just refuse to go away.

Down below, you’ll find all the key betting tips and trends for Game 6 of the 2020 NBA Finals along with the latest odds update and our top betting prediction.

Injuries/Suspensions

The Lakers can count on all their players, but Anthony Davis bruised his right heel in Game 5 that really bothered him. Still, Davis stated he’ll be ready to go Sunday. On the other side, the Heat are without Goran Dragic (foot).

The Line

BetAmerica set the Lakers as 5-point favorites with a total of 214.5 points. Los Angeles is a -200 moneyline fave on DraftKings, while the Heat are +180 underdogs to win straight up.

What’s at Stake?

The Lakers are just a step away from their 17th title in franchise history. On the other side, the Heat are searching for their fourth championship, trying to become the second team ever to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals.

The Spot

It looked like the Lakers have the momentum on their side after a 112-106 victory in Game 4. However, they couldn’t finish the job in a dramatic finish of Game 5. Danny Green had an open 3-pointer to seal the victory for the Lakers and he missed it, giving the Heat a new hope.

The Matchup

Jimmy Butler had a monster triple-double in Game 3, leading Miami to a 115-104 victory. He did it again Friday night, accounting for 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. Jimmy also had five steals, and he scored a couple of crucial free throws down the stretch to lift the Heat over the Lakers.

Interestingly, Erik Spoelstra used only seven players on Friday, and Kendrick Nunn had a big role with 14 points off the bench. Duncan Robinson finally nailed some threes, shooting 7-for-13 from downtown, while the Heat made 42.4% of their 3-point attempts.

Miami handed out five assists more than the Lakers (26-21) and committed two turnovers fewer than their opponents (15-13). The Heat lost the battle on the glass once more (41-35), but they battled bravely to keep it close for all 48 minutes.

On the other side, LeBron James led the way for the Lakers with 40 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists, while Anthony Davis added 28 points and 12 boards. However, the Lakers’ second unit combined for only 14 points on 5-for-22 shooting from the field.

The Bets

I’ve got burned on the Lakers in the previous contest, and for the first time in this series, I’m backing the Heat in Game 6. Of course, I suggest you buy a few points and take the Heat as 7 or 8-point underdogs at slightly lower wages.

I expect to see another tight battle down the stretch. Also, I think the Lakers have an advantage in another dramatic finish because they have more experience than the Heat, but I would be surprised if one of these two teams win comfortably.

Therefore, if you want to take a risk, go with any team to win by five or fewer points at +190 odds. The Heat are 5-1 ATS in their last six encounters with the Lakers, and three of those six games were decided by six or fewer points. The Lakers are 9-3 straight up in their last 12 matchups with Miami.
