The Golden State Warriors travel to Memphis for Game 5, which has become a close out spot for the Warriors. The Warriors went up 3-1 in the series with their win in Game 4. Of course the massive difference for the Grizzlies was the loss of Ja Morant before Game 4. He suffered a bone bruise on his knee at the end of Game 3, and is now doubtful to play again this season.
The Grizzlies have not gotten the level of play from multiple players that got them here thus far in this series. Desmond Bane heads that list, and has been a disappointment for the duration of the series. After averaging 23.5 points per game in the series against Minnesota, he is only posting 9.5 per game in this series. Brandon Clarke has also ceded minutes and production in this series compared to the last.
The toughest pill to swallow for the Grizzlies is that Steph Curry has not lit it up from three point range. Curry has shot just 14 of 45 for the series, yet the Grizzlies are facing elimination in the absence of their best player.

Why Bet The Warriors
✅ The Warriors are clearly the healthier team. They did suffer one injury of their own in the series, losing Gary Payton early on in Game 2. While the Warriors did drop Game 2, they have had no issues since. Otto Porter has stepped up his play in the absence of Payton on a small uptick in minutes. Klay Thompson has also shouldered a few extra minutes, and the Warriors have had no trouble since losing their role player. Of course, the Grizzlies are missing far more than a role player in Ja Morant.
✅ It is difficult to overstate how dire things have gotten for the Grizzlies on the heels of the Morant injury. The Grizzlies completely changed their lineup in Game 4, opting to reinsert Steven Adams into the lineup and play bigger. This was surprising to some degree as reserve guard De’anthony Melton had played well in the first three games. To my surprise, his minutes were cut by two thirds in the Game 4 loss. With Adams playing a larger role, the Warriors shooters will benefit. The Warriors will simply out do the Grizzlies with outside shooting.
✅ The Warriors hold this 3-1 series lead despite a lack of quality shooting. We touched on Curry’s imperfect shooting in the intro. He is not the only one that had a fall off in Game 4. Jordan Poole shot just 4 of 12 and 0 of 3 from three point range. The Warriors still won despite a huge fall off in production from Poole. In the first three games he shot 31 of 53. That included 8 of 21 from three. Look for Poole to bounce back and be a catalyst for the Warriors close out on Wednesday night.
