The Golden State Warriors won the first two games of the Western Conference Finals on their home floor against the Dallas Mavericks. Fresh off of blowing a huge lead in Game 2, the Mavericks return home for Sunday’s Game 3, where they will hope to begin clawing their way back into another series. In today’s NBA predictions, we look at Warriors vs Mavericks Game 3 in what is nothing short of a must-win for Dallas.
Why Bet The Mavericks:
✅ The Dallas Mavericks followed this same series script against the Phoenix Suns in the second round of the playoffs. They fell behind by two games on the road, before winning Games 3 and 4 to even things up. They will do the same thing here, as they have lost just one game at home in the postseason so far.
✅ Golden State has not exactly been dominant away from home this postseason even with their strong performances at home setting the pace for them. The Warriors are 2-3 on the road in the playoffs so far, going 1-1 against the Nuggets and 1-2 against the Grizzlies away from Chase Center.

✅ Dallas was the superior team for the majority of Game 2 against the Warriors on the road. They were getting great looks from three-point range all game long, and will hit enough of those looks to come away with their first victory of this series on Sunday night against a Warriors team that will not be able to rely on another double-digit comeback.
Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors trailed by nearly 20 points in Game 2 against the Dallas Mavericks. But they came all the way back to win that game, thanks to an incredible defensive performance in the second half and some elite offensive basketball. Golden State has been mediocre away from home in this postseason, but can jump out to a virtually insurmountable 3-0 lead in this series with a road win on Sunday night.
There is an injury question for the Warriors coming into this game, as Andrew Wiggins is not at 100% coming into this contest. Coach Steve Kerr said he expects Wiggins to play, but a compromised Wiggins could help open the door for the Mavericks to get back into this series.
Dallas Mavericks
For the Dallas Mavericks, there is no room for error in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. They nearly stole home court advantage from the Warriors in Game 2 of this series, but could not hold onto a 19-point lead to do so. Instead, they are a loss away from a 3-0 deficit in this series, a lead that no team has come back from in NBA history in a best-of-seven series.
If the Mavericks are going to grab a lead and hold it against the Warriors in Game 3, they are going to need to shoot the basketball the way they did in Game 2. Dallas made 21 threes in Game 2, with Reggie Bullock, Jalen Brunson, and Luka Doncic all making five or more long-range shots. Dallas will need more from Spencer Dinwiddie in Game 3, though, as he scored just four points on Friday night.
