UFC Vegas 64 is a Fight Night Card that will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight card is punctuated by a decent main event at women’s strawweight. The 13 fight card does have some late additions and large betting lines on it. We are back to a normal volume of fights, which is an upgrade from last week. This card is an overall improvement from last week’s UFC Vegas 63. There are well made fights that will bring entertainment.
UFC Vegas 64 takes place on Saturday, November 5th, 2022. We will see 13 fights leading into weigh ins. The first fighters are scheduled to make the walk to the octagon at 4PM EST. UFC Vegas 64 will be a steaming card. We will not have any televised portions. Both the prelims and the main card will be streamed exclusively on ESPN+.
With the promotion back at the UFC Apex, we will see the comparatively smaller sized octagon in use. This tends to give a slight edge to fighters that prefer grappling and a higher level of engagement.

Quick Look Back
UFC Vegas 63 was a profitable card. Our three bets saw the fights play out essentially precisely as expected. That said we went just 1-2, but cashed out very large plus figure ticket. The losses were, well, we will get to that.
Our first bet of the night was Roman Dolidze to win ITD at +330. We discussed how he had a submission path to victory throughout the fight and had the power and cardio to score a KO both early and late in the fight. In a wild turn of events two of those things happened. Hawes used his wrestling early in the fight, and was made to pay for it. Dolidze had a beautiful series of elbows leading to a transition to an armbar and finally a kneebar. The kneebar blew out ligaments in Hawes knee and the fight should have ended there. Hawes corner failed to throw in the towel and the ref failed to protect the injured fighter. Instead, both fighters returned to the standup after Dolidze attempted to minimize the long term damage to his opponent. The result was Dolidze knocking Hawes out cold, which cashed our +330 and secured a profitable night after just one bet.
Judges Remain A Problem
Next up was Dustin Jacoby -175 against Khalil Rountree. None of the flash KO’s that were in play for either side came to fruition, and we saw Jacoby technically dominate the striking heavy fight in the first two rounds. He dropped the third round but that truly should not have mattered. The judges dropped the ball terribly and gave Rountree a split decision win. Ben Carltidge was one of the judges to get it wrong. He also had an incorrect scorecard on the Max Griffin fight later in the evening. He as also one of the perpetrators of the Petr Yan robbery two weeks ago. Judging continues to be a significant problem even at the very top of the sport.
Our last bet was Waldo Cortes-Acosta ITD against Jared Vanderaa. The striking played out as expected, and Cortes-Acosta was the easy and clear winner. He did not secure the finish however, and took home a decision win. Vanderaa was tough on this night and that loss is an easy one to swallow. We will keep it rolling for UFC Vegas 64.
UFC Vegas 64 Fight Card
The UFC Vegas 64 Fight Card has some highlights to be sure. It is certainly nowhere near the worst fight card that we have seen. The main event is not overly awe inspiring, but is a necessary one at the top of the women’s strawweight division. We do get to see some exciting up and comers turned contender on the middle of this card as well.
Main Event
The women’s strawweight main certainly brings future title shot implications. Marina Rodriguez is set as a -220 favorite against Amanda Lemos. Rodriguez has been discussed as a title challenger for some time now, and a win would all but cement that that claim. Lemos will look to prove her dynamic skill set should have a place at the top of the division. We will have a bet on this fight so more on this later.
Co-Main Event
The co-main event is at welterweight and is a well made and close fight. Neil Magny seems to have embraced his role as a perennial gatekeeper in the division. He is a small -120 favorite against Daniel Rodgriguez. This fight was originally supposed to take place weeks ago. The rescheduling lands it as the co-main on this card.
Daniel Rodriguez will be the pressuring fighter in the stand up, where he certainly has the largest advantage in this matchup. Rodriguez will certainly be the fighter landing the more damaging shots and will have a significant power edge. He is the overall better striker. Where Magny will be attempting to use his length and just touch his opponent, as per usual.
Neil Magny will need to dictate the style of this fight if he is to notch a win. He will need to have long periods of clinch and ground time. He will need to land takedowns in each round and make it a dirty grappling heavy fight. While he is capable of doing so, Rodriguez is a strong opponent that will almost certainly be the advancing fighter. Magny will have to work hard to initiate clinch scenarios, which will be absolutely paramount for him if he is to win the fight. That will be his path to counteracting the significant striking disadvantage he faces.
I believe the +100 price tag on Rodriguez is the value side. I think the striking will have the most significant impact in the judge’s eyes, and this fight is most likely to go to a decision. Even if there are periods of grappling and clinch fighting, those will be periods passing with little damage or significant moments occurring. The significant moments will come from the striking of Rodriguez, and he is the side to take if needing action on this co-main event.
Remainder Of UFC Vegas 64 Fight Card
There are certainly some fights to circle and pay attention to on this fight card. Jailton Almeida is once again a significant favorite against Maxim Grishin. If Almeida is able to once again dominate and make a finish look easy against this opponent, he will be moving towards high profile fights. We also have a very interesting and wrestling heavy matchup between Grant Dawson and Mark O Madsen. This fight will propel one fighter towards higher profile fights as well. We will also Darrick Minner, Miranda Maverick and Mario Bautista look to improve their respective stock in the promotion.
