Kevin Holland vs Alex Oliveira Fight Odds
Kevin Holland -320 vs Alex Oliveira
Fight is at 170 lbs and is -175 to end inside the distance.
Kevin Holland is making the drop down to welterweight. That move is going to be an amazing one for his career. He is a great striker and he is a great grappler, but the hole has long been his wrestling game. It caused him all sorts of problems at middleweight. The drop in weight class alone will address some of those issues.

Holland is going to be much taller and longer than Alex Oliveira. He will have a 4” height and 5” reach advantage. He will be at least equally as busy from a volume perspective, and will also have a power edge. Holland will be quicker and will have better movement. Frankly, it is going to be all Holland in the stand up. I don’t believe it will take long at all for Oliveira to realize the striking is not going his way and be turned to a wrestler very quickly. I truly believe the power of Holland is going to translate so perfectly to welterweight that an early knock out would is truly in play.
How Could Oliveira Win?
Assuming Oliveira is not knocked out quickly, I believe he will turn to wrestling as so many of Holland’s opponents have done in the past. I do not believe it is a foregone conclusion that Oliveira is successful with his takedown attempts, but for the sake of argument, let’s say that he is. At the lighter weight class, Holland will have a much easier time returning to his feet, and he will make Oliveira work. Oliveira’s gas tank is questionable at best, and Holland forcing him to work on the clinch and wrestling departments would be just a prelude to him gassing out. A gassed out Oliveira would be a sitting duck in the stand up for Holland to tee off on. A gassed out Oliveira would be somewhat easily submitted by Holland on the floor. My read on this fight is that the path to victory for Oliveira is solely in getting the fight down and landing the perfect ground and pound shot in a very small window.
What To Bet
Whether it is early or late, there are very clear paths to a finish for Holland in this matchup. His striking could simply be too much for Cowboy Oliveira at the onset. His gas tank could completely drain Cowboy and find the finish later in the fight. In any event, I think Holland has all bases covered here and it is just a matter of time before Holland kicks off his welterweight stint on the right foot. Plus, we will get to hear Holland on the mic, which is always a plus.
Betting Pick: Holland ITD -120
