David Onama vs Gabriel Benitez Fight Odds
David Onama -155 vs Gabriel Benitez
Fight is at 145 lbs and is -200 to end inside the distance.
David Onama makes his second walk to the octagon. His debut was a short notice loss to Mason Jones, but one he showed very well in. He is a fun striker that I believe is going to absolutely have his way in this fight.

Onama is ascending, brings sound power and strikes in volume. His takedown defense was an issue against Jones, but should not be a problem against Gabriel Benitez. Benitez has landed exactly one takedown in 11 UFC fights. Even if somehow Onama finds himself taken down, his ability to return to his feet will wipe the takedown as if it never happened. Onama is going to be the busier, more powerful and superior striker in this matchup. He will be able to dictate a striking affair and the matchup is an attractive one for him.
Benitez has 11 fights over eight years with the promotion, with mixed results. He is 6-5, but has always been reliant on a lower level of competition to find wins. His six wins have all come against fighters who are no longer on the UFC roster. All six. Even one of the fighters he lost to is no longer on the roster. Benitez has had the skill set to beat fighters on the fringe of the UFC roster, but has truly never been anywhere above that level. Now at 33 years old, he does not look to be anywhere resembling his peak and declining.
What To Bet
I think each minute of this fight will be a marker where Onama takes control a bit more. He will progressively hurt and overwhelm Benitez and I do believe the most likely outcome is a knock out at the end of Round 1 or in Round 2. That said, moving from the -155 flat line to the +110 ITD line does not bring enough value to move off of the flat play. That means the -155 on Onama is the only minus line we are betting on this card.
Betting Pick: Onama -155
