Heat vs Celtics Game 3 Betting Pick
This game will be played at TD Garden at 8:30 PM ET on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
The Boston Celtics and Miami Heat split the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals, going into Game 3 in Boston with the series tied 1-1. On Saturday, that tie will be broken one way or another, as these two teams play in a pivotal matchup with the momentum on Boston’s side. In our NBA predictions for Saturday night, we look at Heat vs Celtics Game 3, as one team will come out of the weekend with a 2-1 advantage.
Why Bet The Celtics:
✅ Outside of the second half of Game 1, the Boston Celtics have dominated this series so far. They have been the better team for six of the eight quarters so far, and looked incredible with Marcus Smart and Al Horford back in the lineup on Thursday night. Expect that to continue on Saturday, as the Celtics give themselves a 2-1 series lead.
✅ Miami has not shot the ball terribly in this series, so it is not like there is set to be some sort of huge course correction there. Miami has been getting around 50% shooting from Jimmy Butler, Gabe Vincent, and Tyler Herro, and there is not likely to be some source of huge shooting improvement as a result. That will allow the Celtics to keep the advantage in this series.

✅ The Heat are 2-3 straight up and against the spread in the postseason so far. They lost a road game to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, and were blown out in two of the three road games they played against the Philadelphia 76ers in round two. Against the best team they have played in the postseason so far, expect another less than convincing performance on the road from the Heat.
Miami Heat
The Miami Heat failed to keep home court advantage through the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics. They won Game 1 behind a huge second half run, but were blown out in Game 2. Miami’s defense was not able to contain the Celtics in Game 2, as they gave up 127 points in a game Erik Spoelstra’s team will need to put behind them in a hurry.
Miami let the Celtics shoot 20/40 from three-point range in Game 2, something that could happen again in Game 3 depending on PJ Tucker’s status. Tucker suffered a knee injury in Game 2 and is awaiting his MRI results before finding out if he can play in this contest. If Tucker is ruled out, the Heat would have a tougher assignment ahead of them on both ends of the floor.
Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics crushed the Miami Heat in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, putting on a masterclass on both ends of the floor. They shot 51% from the field and 50% from three-point range in that victory, and they hold the momentum as they come into Game 3 as favorites. In Game 3, the Celtics will need to find a way to slow down Jimmy Butler to maximize their chances of winning and taking the lead in the series.
Butler has shot efficiently from the floor in this series so far, and has averaged 35 points per game. Boston could very well win Game 3 with Butler shooting the ball well, but Boston could really run away with things if they are able to make scoring a tougher task for the leader of the Heat.
