Three games in the WNBA for today and we’ll take a look at the matchup between the Las Vegas Aces (11-4) and the Los Angeles Sparks (6-8).
Las Vegas at Los Angeles Betting Odds
The Aces have climbed to an 11-point favorite after opening 8.5 and the total has dropped a couple of points to 165.5 after opening at 168.5. Las Vegas is -550 on the moneyline.
Las Vegas Aces
The Aces have a chance to move into a tie with Seattle for the league’s best record with a win here and with Las Vegas having won two of the three games against the Storm, the Aces would have the tie-breaker in their favor. The Aces are a well-rounded team that can beat you offensively or defensively, leading the league in field goal percentage, while being No. 2 in defensive field goal percentage.
There’s no shortage of big-time players on the Aces, with A’ja Wilson and Liz Cambage the key cogs in the team’s offense. The team’s six leading scorers all shoot 44.4% or better from the field, which is pretty much unheard of in the WNBA. The Aces do play at the fastest pace in the league, which makes sense. If you have superior players, you have a better chance of winning the more possessions you can get in a game.

Los Angeles Sparks
The Sparks have been by injuries this season and are simply trying to tread water until they get everybody back. Nneka Ogwumike being left off the Olympic team has garnered a lot of attention and you can’t blame those who support her, although you can’t really blame USA Basketball for wanting healthier players and leaving her, along with Elene Delle Donne off the team. But if both are able to play, they should get the opportunity.
The Sparks have struggled to score at times and if Amanda Zahui B gets into foul trouble, as she’s prone to at times, the Aces will have a serious frontcourt advantage. W
Las Vegas at Los Angeles Pick
We fell to 21-14-1 on the season last night, losing the under in the Connecticut game on the last shot of the contest, which is pretty much typical for how things are going now. During the winning streak those were the types of games we were winning and now we’ve coming up a little bit short on several occasions. The Aces are off the overtime win against Seattle, so a natural letdown spot for them, but if they play hard, they shouldn’t see much resistance from LA. Going to try the under 165.5, even though once again we’ve lost quite a bit of value. Think the Sparks will try to slow the pace down, knowing they don’t have the offensive horses to keep up with Las Vegas.
