Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Hubert Hurkacz
Why Bet The Over 2.5 Sets:
✅ Tsitsipas and Hurkacz have played four straight matches that have gone three out of a possible three sets. They tend to play hyper-competitive matches against one another, and that should continue here in the first match of their 2022 seasons, where both will likely be searching for consistency.
✅ Stefanos Tsitsipas is the better player, but he is coming off of some injury concerns at the tail end of last season that could drag his level of play down a bit. He is not likely to win this match in straight sets, but also isn’t going to lay down and let Hurkacz blow him off of the court here either.

✅ Outside of their Davis Cup matchup in 2019, we have seen six three-set matches in a row between these two players. At a plus price, it is definitely worth backing them to go three sets again.
Stefanos Tsitsipas
Stefanos Tsitsipas went from being one of the most beloved players on tour to one of the tour’s true villains last year. His bathroom break antics were called out almost universally on tour, eliminating most of the good will he had built up. But Tsitsipas still has a ton of talent, and will look to have a 2022 season as good as the one he put together in 2021 when he was a top-five player.
In this match, the goal for Tsitsipas will be to simply get back on track toward playing tennis at a high level while remaining healthy. He started to break down physically late last season, dropping four of his final five matches of the year. But after some rest, Tsitsipas will expect to get back toward the top of the tennis mountain in 2022.
Hubert Hurkacz
Hubert Hurkacz also had a rough conclusion to the 2021 ATP Tour season, dropping his final four matches of the year. Included in that run of four losses was an 0-3 run in the year-end ATP Finals, where he couldn’t quite keep up with the best players on tour during the year. Now, Hurkacz faces a tough test to kick off his 2022 campaign for a Polish team that lacks depth behind him.
Fortunately for Hurkacz, Poland isn’t expected to do much damage at this event, which means that he can play a little more freely than players carrying the weight of expectations for contending nations. It will be interesting to see if he really lets go and plays with reckless abandon in this match with that in mind.
