There are three winless teams left in the NBA this season. One of them happens to be the Los Angeles Lakers, who have struggled mightily despite having LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the floor together. On Wednesday night, they take on the Denver Nuggets, who are off to a better start than the Lakers but still have some kinks to work out as well. In our NBA betting predictions for Wednesday, we look at the late night Lakers vs Nuggets showdown from Denver.

Lakers vs Nuggets Betting Pick
This game will be played at Ball Arena at 10:00 PM ET on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
Why Bet The Lakers:
✅ The Lakers are 0-3 to start this season, but they have not been terrible by any stretch of the imagination. They have played a difficult schedule and were very close in two of the three games they have played. This is an easy buy low spot on a Lakers team that could very well win this contest outright against Denver.
✅ Denver is giving up more points than any team in the NBA so far this season. They are allowing 124.5 points per game to their opponents. The Nuggets are also allowing opponents to shoot 50% from the field so far this year, which ranks at the bottom of the NBA as well. While the Lakers have struggled, the defense of the Nuggets could be just what the doctor ordered to turn things around.

✅ As cruel as it sounds, the Lakers may be better off without Russell Westbrook for this game against the Nuggets. Westbrook is listed as doubtful with a hamstring injury ahead of Wednesday night’s contest. Given his struggles shooting the ball or contributing much in the way of positives for his team lately, the Lakers should have a better chance to win without him.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers have played three games and lost all of them coming into Wednesday night against the Denver Nuggets. They have lost to the Warriors, Clippers, and Trail Blazers, falling victim to a brutal early season schedule. Here, the Lakers look for their first win of the season against another tough opponent in the Nuggets.
For the Lakers, the key to this contest will be finding a way to contain Nikola Jokic. Last season, the Nuggets won both games in which Jokic appeared against the Lakers, including his 38-point game against them in April of 2022. If the Lakers cannot at least slow him down, they have very little chance of leaving Denver with their first win of the season.
Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets are off to a 2-2 start to this season, beating the Warriors and Thunder, while losing to the red-hot Jazz and Trail Blazers. In this contest, the Nuggets will aim to take advantage of a struggling Lakers team by delivering a win at home. But this game is anything but a given against a Lakers team with plenty of talent that could always begin to reach its potential.
It is worth noting going into this contest that Michael Porter Jr. is questionable for the Nuggets. The listed reason for that designation is injury management, as Porter works his way back from missing most of last season. If Porter does not play, it is expected that Jeff Green will see more minutes, as the Nuggets aim to get back above .500 for the season in the early going.
