Celtics vs Warriors Game 2 Betting Pick
This game will be played at Chase Center at 8:00 PM ET on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
After falling behind by double figures in the second half of Thursday’s NBA Finals opener, the Boston Celtics fought back to win with a massive fourth quarter. As a result, the Warriors face a must-win Game 2 as they look to avoid falling behind by two games before the series moves to Boston. In tonight’s NBA picks, we look at Celtics vs Warriors Game 2 in a very significant game for the outcome of this series.
Why Bet The Warriors:
✅ The Warriors had a huge lead after three quarters, but went cold in the fourth quarter. Some of that was the Celtics defense, but some of that was also just the variance of the NBA. If even some of the shots fall down the stretch for the Warriors in Game 2, they will win and cover the spread to even this series at a game apiece.
✅ On the flip side, the Celtics got some unsustainably strong performances from the likes of Derrick White and Al Horford. If they keep shooting the three the way they did in Game 1, you can live with being on the other side, as the probability of that happening is just not all that high given the history of those players statistically speaking.

✅ Despite losing in Game 1, the Warriors are still 9-1 at home this postseason. It is easy to overreact to the result of the first game in this series, but the fact of the matter is that the betting line has not changed from Game 1 to Game 2. The books were not moved by the Celtics’ fourth quarter run, and you should not be moved by it either.
Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics got some heroic performances from unlikely sources to steal Game 1 of the NBA Finals from the Golden State Warriors. Boston outscored Golden State 40-16 in the final 12 minutes of play, thanks in large part to Derrick White and Al Horford, who combined to shoot 11/16 from three-point range. But the Celtics will need more from their stars to deal with the likely regression to the mean from those two players.
Jayson Tatum went 3/17 from the field in Game 1, with the lights out shooting from the rest of the Celtics bailing him out. It will be interesting to see if he can raise his level in his second career NBA Finals game after struggling in the first one. If Boston’s role players fail to shoot the lights out for a second straight game, the Celtics will need Tatum to do just that.
Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors were the better team for the first three quarters in Game 1 against the Boston Celtics. The problem with that is that NBA games last four quarters, not three. Steve Kerr’s team fell apart in the fourth quarter on both ends of the floor, and they will need to remedy that in order to even this series before it heads to Boston for Game 3.
Consistency from Steph Curry will be a big factor in Game 2. Curry made six threes in the first quarter of Game 1, but was slowed down considerably from there. The Warriors will need more from him and for Draymond Green to shoot the ball less to even this series at a game apiece.
