Why Bet The Celtics:
✅ The way that the Celtics have defended Kevin Durant has been incredible throughout this series. While it is human nature to say that Durant will eventually break through with a big game in this series, the Celtics’ defensive intensity and physicality appears to be sustainable enough to take a big game from Durant off the table.
✅ There may be some underlying chemistry issues for the Nets heading into Game 4, as a result of the Ben Simmons situation. Simmons was supposed to come back for limited minutes in Game 4, but seems to have suffered a back injury by simply attempting to return to on-court action. Without Simmons, the Nets will not improve defensively in this series, while there is some internal frustration about him not suiting up at all this season.

✅ For Boston, meanwhile, Robert Williams is off the injury report completely for the Celtics. He returned for limited action in Game 3, and should be good to go again for the Celtics in Game 4. With him back, the Celtics have their rim protection and shot blocking at full strength and should be even tougher to beat than they were in the first few games of the series.
Boston Celtics
Things could not have gone better for the Boston Celtics to start this series against the Brooklyn Nets. Boston has won all three games to start things off, and could finish off a shocking sweep on Monday night in Brooklyn against a Nets team that was among the favorites to win the Eastern Conference all season long. As has been the case all year for the Celtics, defense has been the key to their success.
Boston has been physical with Kevin Durant for the entirety of this series, not allowing him to get the easy mid-range looks that he is so accustomed to. Without that staple of his game, the Nets’ top player has not looked like his normal self. If Boston can limit him one more time, they could be looking at a first round series sweep and a spot in the second round against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Brooklyn Nets
The first round of the NBA Playoffs has been a nightmare for the Brooklyn Nets, who are in real danger of going out as the only team without a win this postseason. Brooklyn has not been able to get things going on either end of the floor, as the Celtics have been clearly superior both offensively and defensively. Now, the Nets are left scrambling for answers, as they are tinkering with their lineup during a time of the season where continuity is so key.
Brooklyn had expected to have Ben Simmons back for this game in some capacity, but that will not be the case due to back issues. Instead, Brooklyn is considering giving Blake Griffin or LaMarcus Aldridge playing time, with Griffin only seeing action for one half in this series and Aldridge yet to see any at all. In what could be their final game of the year, coach Steve Nash does not appear to know which roster combinations are best for his team just yet.
