UFC Vegas 60 is a Fight Night card originating from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Fight Night card has plenty of fights and should be a very exciting one for viewing purposes. UFC Vegas 60 takes place on Saturday September 17th, 2022. We are scheduled for 14 fights on the night. The first fighters will make the walk to the octagon at 4PM EST. The main event is a high end bantamweight matchup between Cory Sandhagen and Song Yadong.
UFC Vegas 60 will be a steaming card. We will not have any televised portions. Both the prelims and the main card will be streamed live on ESPN+.
With the promotion back at the UFC Apex, we will see the comparatively smaller sized octagon in use. This tends to give a slight edge to fighters that prefer grappling and a higher level of engagement.

Quick Look Back
We had three bets for UFC 279 last week. While our fighters went 2-1, our bets went 1-2. It was not at all a significant loss however, as the only minus figure we were laying was the winner. We started the night with Yohan Lainesse to win in Round 1 at +475. He did land heavy shots but was more interested in conserving gas than finishing the fight. He won a decision, but certainly reeled in his dynamism to not gas out. The next loss was on Chad Anheliger as a +155 underdog. I knew he would win the volume war in that fight. He did just that, but was rocked and lost the first round badly. He came back and fought two close rounds after that, but the decision was not his.
The winner was on Irene Aldana as a favorite against Macy Chiasson. Aldana did get in a tricky grappling spot but was clearly the superior striker. She even rolled for an armbar and hyperextended the arm of Chiasson, but the referee missed the tap from Chiasson. No matter. Aldana landed a flush heel upkick to the liver of Chiasson that crumbled her in the third round and made her body shut down. Small loss on the night but nothing we cannot fix and then some for this card.
UFC Vegas 60 Fight Card
The UFC Vegas 60 Fight Card should be a lot of fun. Nine of the fourteen fights are expected to end inside the distance by betting line, so we should have a plethora of finishes. We will get an extremely high quality bantamweight main event between Cory Sandhagen and Song Yadong that could legitimately give us a very fun full 25 minutes. Leading into that we have a number of fun fights and fun fighters scattered from the top to bottom of the card.
Main Event
Cory Sandhagen is the pick for oddsmakers as he is a -195 favorite over Song Yadong in their bantamweight main event. Sandhagen already has a wealth of high end experience in the division, and this is a great fight for him to keep his standing after two straight losses at the top of the division. Sandhagen remains extremely long and rangy for the bantamweight division. He brings superb volume and variety in his striking attacks as well. He is a well rounded fighter as well, and will not be out of his element no matter where this fight goes. Sandahgen has ample power in his striking, but is not fully a knock out artist. He keeps a steady high pace, and his range will serve him well in this matchup.
Song Yadong has won three straight fights and is certainly a rapidly ascending fighter. He is still just 24 years old, and has as bright a future as any fighter in the division. Yadong is also strong in his striking volume. He is not quite at the level of Sandhagen in keeping busy and accurate, but he does stay busy. Yadong does have a bit of a power edge on Sandhagen, and that power has been on display in two consecutive knockout wins. Yadong is also a well rounded fighter, that would actually be the more likely of the two fighters to try to take this fight to the floor.
I think the oddsmakers have this main event correct. I found there were mostly sharp lines on this card, and this main event was no exception. Sandhagen is the more likely fighter to win, as his length will give some problems for Yadong. Yadong is generally very good at short area bursting to land his shots. However, the distance to close on Sandhagen is more than he will be accustomed to, and Sandhagen is quite durable. The volume edge on the Sandhagen side is likely to be the difference. If firing a bet on this main event, Sandhagen is the side to take.
Co-Main Event
The co-main event is quite a banger as well! It does not bring the same household names, but it is an exciting fight that will bring us a finish. Chidi Njokuani and Gregory Rodrigues meet in a pickem middleweight fight. We will have a bet on this fight, so much more on this fight later.
Remainder Of UFC Vegas 60 Fight Card
From the very first fight of the night, we are going to get fireworks. Both oddsmakers and I project a finish in each of the first four fights on the card. Those finishes are live from either side as well. We then get into a pair of well matched fights that could truly go either way before our first bet of the night on the prelims. The Aspen Ladd vs Sara McMann fight could truly propel a fighter towards a title shot. Moving to the main card we have a couple fun fights to start. The Giles vs Cosce and Jackson vs Sabatini fights are closer than the betting lines suggest, with all fighters being live for a finish. I cannot wait for the grappling exchanges in Sabatini vs Jackson. We also get a fun and evenly matched fight between Andre Fili and Bill Algeo leading into the co-main events.
UFC Vegas 60 Bet Sheet
We have a good volume of fights for this card, but only a moderate slate of action. This is a week the promotion did a great job of matching up the fights. There are a great deal of fights that I agree with the betting favorite, but see the line as too wide. There are also some truly coin flip fights that could go either way.
We will have three bets on the card, one of which coming at a plus figure on a very live underdog. The other two we are laying over two to one, but on outcomes that are much more likely than their betting lines suggest. Let’s get to those bets.
