Navy Looks For Momentum Before Army/Navy Game
Navy won its first six games of this season and was ranked in the top-25 after that hot start. But they have lost three of their last four games since then, failing to hang with quality competition like Notre Dame and Tulane. This week, Navy looks to get a win against East Carolina to build confidence ahead of their annual showdown with Army to close out their regular season. Navy’s high-powered offense has fallen apart during their last four games, failing to score over 14 points three times during that stretch. If their offense doesn’t wake up in this game, the Midshipmen could lose a fourth game out of five before facing Army.
East Carolina Seeking Fifth Straight Win
The East Carolina Pirates have seen their fortunes move in the opposite directions of late. They have won four games in a row to get to 7-4 after a 3-4 start to the year. The Pirates have been absolutely torching their opponents during their recent winning streak, averaging 45.75 points per game during that stretch. But those four games came against four much weaker opponents in the AAC and we could see the ECU offense regress in this matchup.
Navy vs East Carolina Best Bet
Our expectation for Navy vs East Carolina is for the visitors to come away with a win and for them to cover the spread as well. East Carolina’s recent offensive surge has been more of a product of their schedule than anything else in our opinion. We expect Navy to put up more resistance and for the Midshipmen to get a much-needed victory before they face Army in one of the great traditions in American sports.
