On Tuesday night, the Purdue Boilermakers will open their 2022-23 college basketball season at home against the Milwaukee Panthers. While Milwaukee vs Purdue is expected to be lopsided if the point spread is to be believed, it is a great opportunity for Purdue to get themselves into the swing of things before facing tougher competition. Below is my college basketball prediction for this non-conference contest.

Milwaukee Panthers
Last season, Milwaukee was disappointing as they welcomed in the first five-star recruit in program history, but still finished just 10-22 overall and 8-14 in Horizon play. The Panthers season ended with a first-round exit in the Horizon League tournament.
The Panthers welcome back an experienced roster and a new head coach as Bart Lundy takes over the Milwaukee basketball program.
In the preseason media polls, Milwaukee was picked to finish ninth, out of 12 teams, in the Horizon League. No Panther player was selected to the preseason all-league team.
Purdue Boilermakers
Last season, Purdue finished 29-8 overall and 14-6 in Big Ten play, good for third place. The Boilermakers advanced to the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament and earned a three seed in the NCAA Tournament. Things did not go as planned when the Boilermakers were eliminated in the Sweet Sixteen by 15 seed Saint Peter’s.
Purdue lost three players to professional league, two transfers, and one graduate in the offseason. However, the Boilermakers did bring in one transfer from Utah, two four-star recruits, and one three-star recruit.
In the preseason media polls, Purdue was picked fifth in the Big Ten, receiving one vote to win, and Zach Edey was selected to the preseason all-Big Ten team.
