- The Fever have won two games in a row as an easier portion of their schedule and some rest have made things a little easier on them of late.
- The Mystics are without arguably their two best players in Brittney Sykes and Shakira Austin again tonight.
On Wednesday night, the Indiana Fever will host the Washington Mystics in a game of great significance to the home team. Indiana comes into this contest on a two-game winning streak and will look to remain in the top eight in the WNBA standings with a win here. Here, we give you our WNBA betting picks for Mystics vs Fever from Indianapolis.
This game will be played at Gainbridge Fieldhouse at 7:00 PM ET on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
Washington Mystics
The Washington Mystics are off to a 2-12 start to this season, but they have won two games in a row entering Wednesday’s Mystics vs Fever matchup. Washington picked up its first win of the season in surprising fashion against the Atlanta Dream on the road before grabbing a second straight victory over the Chicago Sky at home thanks to some shaky free throw shooting down the stretch from Chicago. Now, the Mystics will look for a third win in a row at the expense of the Indiana Fever.
The first meeting of the season between these teams took place in Washington, with the Mystics failing to do enough to win that game on their home floor in a close contest. Washington’s failure to contain Caitlin Clark was its undoing in that game, as Clark had 30 points and made seven threes in that game. If the Mystics want a chance to win a third straight game, they will need to do a better job on Clark defensively tonight.
Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever come into Wednesday’s action in eighth place in the WNBA standings with a record of 5-10. They have also won two games in a row, beating the Atlanta Dream and Chicago Sky over their last two outings as well. Now the Fever are home favorites as they look not just for a third win in a row, but a win that would help them pull further ahead of the bottom-four teams in the league in the standings.
A huge key for the Fever here will be the play of Aliyah Boston, who has stepped things up in a big way over the last couple of games for Indiana. Boston has averaged 23 points per game over her last two games, which has made things easier on the perimeter players on her team. If that continues tonight, the Fever could very well get to a third straight victory.
