Saturday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse was supposed to be billed around Caitlin Clark, but the Indiana Fever will host the Los Angeles Sparks without their franchise guard, who has been ruled out with a back injury that flared up during Thursday's loss to Phoenix. The Sparks arrive in even rougher shape, missing both Kelsey Plum and Cameron Brink, which strips a banged-up roster of two starters and forces Los Angeles to lean on a thinner group on the road against a Fever team that still owns one of the better home records in the league this season.
Even without Clark running the show, Indiana has built a deep enough roster around Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston to handle a Sparks team that just lost its leading scorer for a month and is already without a starting forward. Mitchell is averaging 21.4 points per game and has scored at least 21 in three of her last four outings, while Boston continues to control the glass and the paint at both ends. Los Angeles still has Nneka Ogwumike doing steady work on the boards and Rae Burrell providing scoring off the bench, but asking that group to keep pace with a healthier Fever team is a tall order.
Combined odds for the three-leg parlay come out to +500 at DraftKings Sportsbook. Mitchell has absorbed a heavier share of Indiana's offense in each of her last 11 outings as Clark's back issue has lingered, and with two important players in the Sparks lineup ruled out, neither team projects to push the pace the way they have in recent games, supporting the lean toward the under alongside the Fever to cover.
Nneka Ogwumike Over 8.5 rebounds at +114 on DraftKings Sportsbook stands out as the play here. With Brink already out and Plum now gone for an extended stretch, Ogwumike becomes the lone established frontcourt option Los Angeles can trust for extended minutes, and she has cleared this mark in four of her last six games. This gives a veteran like Ogwumike every opportunity to stay busy on the offensive boards in a game where her teammates will need her to do more with less scoring help around her.
