We tested BetMGM's current welcome offer in October 2026. Registration was straightforward, and the ATSBONUS1500 promo code was accepted during sign-up. The offer was then linked to our account and ready for the qualifying first wager.

Your Offer Depends on Your State
The First Bet Offer is currently available in 17 jurisdictions, while Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia use the Bet $10, Get $150 offer.
The $1,500 Isn't Guaranteed
The First Bet Offer only pays if your qualifying wager loses, and the amount you receive matches your stake up to $1,500. Bet $100 and lose, for example, and you receive $100 in Bonus Bets rather than the full $1,500.
The First Bet Has to Qualify
Your opening wager must meet BetMGM's promotional requirements to trigger the offer. Certain bet types or other promotions may be excluded.
Bonus Bets Come With Restrictions
Bonus Bets expire after seven days and can't be withdrawn directly as cash. Larger First Bet Offer refunds may also be split into multiple Bonus Bets. We cover the full rules below.
Maximum Bonus
$1,500
Bonus Bets Received
5 × $300

+110*
Profit Per Winning $300 Bet
$330
Total Profit if All 5 Win
$1,650
Bonus Bet Stake Returned?
❌ No$1,500 in Bonus Bets isn't the same as $1,500 in cash. At +110, five winning $300 Bonus Bets would produce $1,650 in profit, since the $1,500 in Bonus Bet stakes aren't returned.
❗
*Example only. Your actual return depends on the odds and outcome of each wager.
There are a few additional rules worth knowing before you place your qualifying wager or use your Bonus Bets.
Key Term | What It Means |
|---|---|
Bonus Bet Stake | The Bonus Bet itself isn't returned when you win. You receive the profit from the wager. |
Larger First Bet Bonuses | First Bet Offer bonuses above $50 are divided into five equal Bonus Bets. |
Cash Withdrawal | Bonus Bets can't be withdrawn directly. Only eligible winnings can be withdrawn. |
Qualifying Wager | Your first bet must be a real-money sports wager with the First Bet Offer token applied. Bonus Bets and certain promotional tokens don't qualify. |
Minimum Odds | The qualifying wager must be placed at odds of -10,000 or longer. |
Offer requirements can vary by state and promotion. Always check the terms shown in your BetMGM account before placing your qualifying wager.

Recent Reddit discussions show mixed feedback on BetMGM promotions. The up-to-$1,500 First Bet Offer continues to appear in sportsbook promo discussions, while criticism is more commonly aimed at ongoing offers for existing customers.

Our Take: Reddit feedback is more critical of BetMGM's ongoing promotions than its welcome offer. The $1,500 maximum looks attractive, but new customers should focus on the actual qualifying-bet rules rather than the headline amount.
Every sportsbook bonus we publish is checked against the current offer terms before the page is updated. We focus on the details that determine what players can actually claim, not just the headline bonus amount.
We confirm the current promo code and sign-up offer against BetMGM's latest published promotional terms.
We check where the offer is available and flag states or jurisdictions with different welcome bonuses or restrictions.
We review minimum deposits, qualifying wagers, odds requirements, promo tokens, and any excluded bet types.
We check how the bonus is awarded, including win/loss triggers, Bonus Bet amounts, playthrough rules, and expiration dates.
We verify whether bonus funds can be withdrawn, what happens to the Bonus Bet stake, and which winnings are eligible for cashout.
We date-stamp our checks and review the page again when the sportsbook changes its offer, terms, or state availability.

The current BetMGM promo code is ATSBONUS1500. New customers can use it to claim the welcome offer available in their state.
Using ATSBONUS1500 when you sign up links your account to the eligible BetMGM welcome offer. Always check that the promotion appears in your account before placing your qualifying wager.
BetMGM currently has two main welcome offers. Most eligible states get up to $1,500 back in Bonus Bets if the first qualifying wager loses, while customers in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia can Bet $10 and Get $150 in Bonus Bets if the qualifying wager wins.
Place your first qualifying real-money wager after signing up. If it loses, BetMGM returns the eligible stake as Bonus Bets, up to a maximum of $1,500. The full $1,500 is therefore only available if your qualifying first wager is large enough.
No. Bonus Bets can't be withdrawn directly as cash, and the Bonus Bet stake isn't returned when you win. Eligible winnings from a successful Bonus Bet can be withdrawn.
The welcome promo code is intended for eligible new BetMGM customers. Existing users can instead check the Promotions section of their account for odds boosts, Bonus Bet offers, and other ongoing promotions.
The current BetMGM sportsbook welcome offers require a qualifying deposit and wager, so they aren't no-deposit bonuses.
If your first qualifying wager wins, you keep the normal cash winnings but don't receive Bonus Bets from the First Bet Offer. The Bonus Bets are only triggered if your qualifying first wager loses.
BetMGM Bonus Bets from the current welcome offers expire seven days after they're credited to your account. Any unused Bonus Bets are forfeited after that period, so it's best to claim the offer when you're ready to use them.
