While the NBA is the biggest basketball league in the world, College basketball can pull even bigger ratings. With betting on College basketball being legal in many states, that has naturally resulted in many betting promos for the sport. Here are some of the best options on the market and how to take advantage of them.
Betting promos for College basketball and other sports can provide extra winnings, or help mitigate losses. Bonuses and promos are ultimately designed to get users to keep betting, and that can come in many different ways. Whether it’s returning the stakes on a failed bet or offering up more bets to keep the action moving, online sportsbooks have many ways to approach this. Here are some of the benefits of using a betting promo on NCAA College basketball:
Sportsbooks offer promos on NCAA basketball and a variety of other sports in order to bring fans of the sport into betting or to woo bettors with other sportsbooks onto their platform. In most cases, this boils down to sportsbooks using promos and bonuses to attract new customers.
That’s not the only use promos have for sportsbooks, though. Offering up bonus bets keeps bettors engaged with their account and grows their attachment to the sportsbook. This results in a long-term relationship between the sportsbook and the user, with both sides hoping to profit off the other.

Caesars Sportsbook is a leading sportsbook in America, with the entertainment company behind the Caesars, Harrah’s, and Horseshoe casino chains partnering with European giant William Hill. This resulted in an overnight juggernaut with a significant nationwide presence as both an online and retail sportsbook.
BetMGM is another resort and casino company that has pivoted to becoming a major player in the sports betting world. The company offers a wealth of promos across every major sport and that starts with its welcome bonus.
Across most states, BetMGM offers a second chance first bet worth up to $1,500 for new users. This lets new users get their feet under them, and it can be used on college basketball or any other sport. Alongside this is a refer-a-friend program, where established users can receive a bonus by getting a friend to register. The new user will also receive a reward.
Yes, daily fantasy sports giant DraftKings is also one of the largest sportsbooks in the country. The site has a huge presence across sports and is one of the go-to sports betting options across the country. There are a number of reasons for that, with its ability to attract new users with strong welcome bonuses being one of them.
DraftKings has been offering a “Bet $5, Win $200” promotion. This was initially tailored to specific leagues but the betting promo is so popular that it can now be used on anything, NCAA basketball included.
FanDuel Sportsbook offers a load of different promotions throughout the year to go alongside its great usability and large array of banking options. NCAA basketball is a part of that in many states, and it has a strong welcome bonus to start things off.
The Rivers Casino chain boasts a prominent online sportsbook with BetRivers. The sportsbook does a good job of incentivizing new users to keep the action rolling with its iRush Rewards program which offers regular users bonus bets and other incentives.
For new users, it offers a 2nd Chance Bet. This sportsbook promo lets new users place their first wager. If the bet fails, the stake gets returned as bonus bets. This sportsbook promo can be used on NCAA basketball, or another sport.
There’s a lot of unique action to be found on PointsBet. The sportsbook looks to make itself as fun as possible by offering up new markets by customer request, a tiered loyalty program, and the Karma Kommittee which offers up bonus bets when a contest comes to an unfortunate end. The kicker is the PointsBet Rewards program that offers up bonus bets to regular users.
It’s easy to get started with PointsBet thanks to the PointsBet Second Chance system. Place a fixed odds bet each day for five days straight. If one of the bets doesn’t cash, bonus bets will be awarded for the ones that don’t land, up to $100 each. Naturally, NCAA basketball is on the menu for this.
There are a number of different types of bonuses that are offered up for College basketball betting, as well as other sports. These can be difficult to figure out for newcomers, especially since each sportsbook tends to come up with its own name for the same type of bonus. Here are some of the most common bonus offers, how they work, and some of the names they go by.
The go-to option for basically every sportsbook when it comes to welcome bonuses or rewards is the bonus bet. Bonus bets effectively work the same way as money, in that they’re used to place a wager and can earn winnings. These are distinct from actual credit on one’s account as they can’t be withdrawn outright and may have restrictions when it comes to withdrawing winnings.
Second-chance bets are a type of bonus bet that are awarded after losing a bet. They’re a common type of welcome bonus, typically refunding the stake of a user’s first bet with a bonus bet.
Sportsbooks may offer a bonus to users who make a deposit. This is particularly common as a new user bonus, with a percentage of the user’s deposit being awarded as credit. This may not be given outright, with different sportsbooks taking different approaches to giving the credit.
In most cases, getting a sportsbook bonus requires a deposit. There are some exceptions, though. No-deposit bonuses let users start betting without actually making a deposit. These are a great way to get into betting without any sort of risk.
Some sportsbooks will offer larger payouts than usual on a bet. A recent example of these Bet and Get promos is DraftKings’ “Bet $5, Win $200” which effectively offers a 40-to-1 payout in the form of bonus bets.

Claiming a sportsbook promo for College basketball betting is a simple process that is often folded into registration. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of the process for those who need help.
Bettors can use bonus offers and promos to amplify the money earned from successful bets on College basketball and other sports.
Ultimately, the key to making money with sportsbook betting promos is to actually place successful bets. This might sound obvious, but these promos are specifically designed to get users to bet early and often. Sportsbooks get the better of their customers more often than not, and because of that they offer incentive to just keep on betting.
That makes it important to make sure that the bets being placed are smart. Sportsbooks will float promos for sports or leagues that not everyone is familiar with or encourage bets that are unlikely to pay off, like parlays with many legs. To actually make money using betting bonus offers, ultimately make sure to just be smart with wager and not get overly comfortable in a way that results in wasting money.
Betting bonuses that can be used on NCAA basketball are available in almost every state where collegiate sports betting is legal. Though sports betting is opening up in more and more states, not all states fully embrace betting on collegiate sports, with many banning betting on in-state colleges and competitions and some betting specific types of bets.
Still, most states that have legal sports betting still offer some manner of action on college sports. Here are the states where you can bet on college sports, and take advantage of NCAA basketball betting bonuses:
While second chance bets and deposit bonuses are the standard offerings, there are many others that pop up.
Parlay bet resets are a common offer type that makes parlays more viable. Different promotions will see the stake returned if a certain number of legs hit on a parlay, or potentially see it win.
No-brainer bets are another common promotion. These will offer up profit boosts, bonus bets, or other prizes based on conditions that are almost certainly going to be fulfilled. This could be something like a guaranteed win if a player hits a three-pointer during a basketball game, or if a touchdown is scored in football.
This is just the tip of the iceberg though, as sportsbooks are getting more and more creative with their bonus and promotion game. Expect more options to be introduced over time.
