- The Fever are allowing the most points per game in the WNBA this season at 89.8 points per game.
- These teams played a close game in Seattle earlier in the season, but the Fever needed a 1/10 shooting night from Skylar Diggins-Smith to stay within striking distance.
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are back in action on Thursday night, as they host the Seattle Storm from Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Indiana is off to a dreadful 1-7 start to the year, but they will look to get a win tonight against a Storm team they hung with in Seattle earlier in the season. Here, we’ve got your WNBA betting picks for Storm vs Fever from Indianapolis.
This game will be played at 7:00 PM ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
Seattle Storm
The Seattle Storm had a rough start to their 2024 campaign, dropping two straight games and three of their first four. But they have won three games in a row since then to get to 4-3 coming into tonight’s Storm vs Fever matchup. Tonight, the Storm will look to get a second win over the Fever on the season, as Seattle looks to prove that their attempts at building a super team were not in vain in the offseason.
For Seattle, the big question mark in this game will be whether or not they can keep Indiana away from the free throw line. Seattle allowed 18 free throw attempts to Indiana in their first matchup of the season in the Pacific Northwest. If the Storm can’t defend without fouling in this contest, they could be dropped back to the .500 mark for the year with an upset loss to Indiana.
Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever are 1-7 to start this season, putting them in 11th place in the 12-team WNBA. Strength of schedule has had a lot to do with that, as has the learning curve of the league for Caitlin Clark, who is a productive player while still clearly adjusting to professional basketball. Tonight, the Fever will feel like they have a great chance to get their second win of the year, against a Storm team they nearly beat in Seattle not too long ago.
For the Fever to succeed, Clark must be more efficient from the perimeter. She shot 2/8 from three-point range against the Storm in their first meeting this season. And while you would like to see Aliyah Boston look more like the All-Star she was last year as well, Clark struggling with her outside shot is something that simply cannot continue if Indiana is going to win games more consistently this year.
