Saquon Barkley Prop Prediction #1: Under 116.5 Rushing Yards (-112)
Saquon Barkley scored touchdowns on his first two carries for the Eagles in their dominant NFC Championship Game victory over the Washington Commanders. But we don’t recommend taking Barkley as an anytime touchdown scorer in this game. Laying that much vig with Barkley is a bad bet, even if he does find the end zone on Super Bowl Sunday. Instead, we will start off by taking the under on Barkley’s rushing yardage in this matchup.
There are a couple of main reasons that we like the under on Barkley’s rushing yards total in this game. First, the Chiefs are going to do everything they can to stuff the run on early downs to force Jalen Hurts to beat them through the air on third and long situations. Along with that, only 11 rushers all-time have eclipsed 116 yards on the ground in a Super Bowl. None of those performances have come after 2003 and we don’t expect Barkley to break that streak here.
Saquon Barkley Prop Prediction #2: Longest Reception Over 8.5 Yards (-120)
Our next prop pick for Saquon Barkely going into Super Bowl 59 is for his longest reception to be over 8.5 yards. Barkley doesn’t see a ton of catches out of the backfield, as he is more of a traditional workhorse running back. But his receptions total is set at 2.5 and he will be expected to catch a couple of passes in this game. If he does, we expect at least one of those catches to go for at least nine yards.
Barkley is so hard to bring down in open space, which should allow him to get to the second level of the defense on a catch at least once in this game. Look for the Philly back to find a way to gain some yards after the catch to cash the over on this prop as Barkley looks to make his mark both through the air and on the ground in his first trip to the Super Bowl.
