This game will be played at SoFi Stadium at 4:25 PM ET on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
Why Bet the Under:
✅ Los Angeles has seen three straight games fail to go over the 40-point mark, winning all three of those games. The Chargers’ improved defensive performance will continue this week.
✅ Bettors will likely rush to bet the over here after the Rams scored 51 points against the Broncos last week. But the Rams rank 26th in the league in scoring and should struggle to put points on the board against a more serious opponent.
✅ The Chargers and Rams have gone under the total in more than half of their games this year. The Rams and Chargers have both gone under the total in nine of their 15 games this year, and we will see this contest go under as well.

Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams played their best game of the 2022 NFL season last week, beating up on the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day. They put up 51 points, with Baker Mayfield completing 24 of his 28 pass attempts. This week, the Rams will look for a second straight victory, as they face the team they share their stadium with.
For the Rams, the resurgence of running back Cam Akers could be beneficial for this contest. Akers went over the 100-yard mark last week against the Broncos. If he can find room to run again this week, the Rams could win the Battle of Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers have locked up a playoff spot already, and come into this game with the Rams having won three games in a row. Justin Herbert has been on fire of late, but it was Austin Ekeler that carried the Chargers in their latest win, scoring two touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts. This week, the Chargers will aim for another defensive gem to pick up their 10th win of the year.
Over the last three games, the Chargers have allowed just 11.3 points per game, winning all three of those contests. Granted, two of those wins came against struggling offensive teams in the Titans and Colts, but the other was against the high-powered Dolphins offense. If the Chargers can get after Baker Mayfield with their pass rush, a fourth straight superb defensive performance could be forthcoming.
