The penultimate game of the NFL season is the NFC Championship Game between the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers. In that game, there are a number of prop angles worth taking in addition to the result-focused wagers we have already included in our NFL betting picks throughout the week. Here, we break down which Lions vs 49ers props you should be considering ahead of Sunday’s action.
Lions vs 49ers Player Prop #1: Brock Purdy Under 279.5 Passing Yards (-110)
Our first Lions vs 49ers player prop choice is for Brock Purdy to go under his passing yardage total of 279.5 yards. Purdy is deserving of consideration for this year’s NFL MVP award, but he could run into trouble in this game. Against a Lions pass rush that is great at generating pressure, Purdy should settle in somewhere closer to 250 passing yards in this matchup.
Also working against Purdy is the fact that one of his most dangerous offensive weapons is set to play through injury in this game. Deebo Samuel is managing a shoulder injury that shouldn’t keep him from playing for a second straight week. But it could negatively impact the production of both Samuel and Purdy in this conference championship clash.
Lions vs 49ers Player Prop #2: Amon-Ra St. Brown Over 7.5 Receptions (+105)
Our other prop pick for the Lions vs 49ers game is for Amon-Ra St. Brown to catch at least eight passes. St. Brown has been a frequent target for Jared Goff going into this game, as St. Brown has been targeted 23 times in the first two rounds of the playoffs. With Goff likely to face pressure both from the situation at hand and from the Niners’ defense, he should look to his favorite target on a regular basis in this game.
It is also very possible that the Lions are trailing throughout this game, which would mean more passing the ball from Detroit. That could result in a big day for Samuel from a receptions standpoint and we will gladly take his over in this matchup.
