Why Bet the Chiefs:
✅ Are we sure Jalen Hurts is as good as he’s been anointed to be? He has thrown for 275 yards combined in the Eagles’ two playoff wins, and did very little when those games were not yet decided. Against an elite QB counterpart this week, he will need to do more, and will not.
✅ Patrick Mahomes will have two weeks to heal up, and was impressive even when hobbling around on an injured ankle.
✅ Philadelphia has gone 10-9 against the spread this season. While that is above .500, they got four games against the lowly AFC South this year, and faced two teams without functional passers in the playoffs. Against much better competition, they will struggle.

Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs held serve at home to win the AFC Championship Game, beating the Cincinnati Bengals to reach Super Bowl LVII. Patrick Mahomes was still clearly hobbled by his ankle injury, but he was able to make plays from the pocket to get the Chiefs back to the biggest stage in the NFL. Now the question is whether the Chiefs offensive line can protect Mahomes in Glendale.
This season was a historic one for the pass rush of the Eagles, as they had 70 sacks in the regular season. If they get pressure on Mahomes, the injured Chiefs QB may not be able to run around and extend plays the way he does when fully healthy. That could be the difference between a second title in the Mahomes and Reid era, and a second runner-up finish.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles enjoyed arguably the easiest road to the Super Bowl of any team in NFL playoff history. They ran through the New York Giants and a San Francisco 49ers team that was without its top-three quarterbacks for most of the NFC Championship Game. Now they will be tested against the AFC champions, who have a much better quarterback situation than either of those teams.
How Jalen Hurts performs in the Super Bowl will be very interesting, as he was not impressive at all in the NFC title game. His biggest play was an incompletion to Devonta Smith that was ruled a completed pass, and he did not have to do anything else in either of his playoff games this year so far. Can he deliver on this stage? Only time will tell.
