Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are coming off a disappointing 7-10 season in 2022. They were without starting quarterback Deshaun Watson for the first 11 games and ultimately finished in last place in the AFC North. Now, the Browns will look to navigate their way through one of the toughest divisions in the league and avoid missing the playoffs for the 20th time over the last 21 seasons.
Cleveland made some notable moves during the 2023 NFL Offseason. They significantly improved their defensive line by trading for three-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Za’Darius Smith and signing nose tackle Dalvin Tomlinson in free agency. They also landed third-year wide receiver Elijah Moore via trade, providing Watson and the Browns with another playmaker on the offensive side of the ball.
Philadelphia Eagles
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles finished the 2022 NFL regular season at 14-3, earning the top spot in their division and the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC. They made a deep run in the postseason, earning wins against the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers, before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.
The Eagles had a fairly successful offseason, retaining three key defensive players in Darius Slay, James Bradberry, and Brandon Graham. However, Philadelphia did lose several important pieces from last year’s team, including running back Miles Sanders, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, and guard Isaac Seumalo. Now, 2022 MVP runner-up Jalen Hurts and the Eagles will look to make another strong push for the Super Bowl title in 2023.
