Christian McCaffrey Prop Prediction #1: Longest Run Over 17.5 Yards (-125)
Our first prop pick for Christian McCaffrey is for him to go over the total for his longest run of the game at 17.5 yards. McCaffrey has broken a run of at least 25 yards in each of the first two playoff games for the 49ers this year. Expect McCaffrey to break another long run at some point in this game, even if he is not able to have sustained success on the ground for the Niners.
This postseason, the Chiefs have allowed 113 yards per game on the ground to their opponents. But that number is inflated slightly by allowing 54 yards to Lamar Jackson in the AFC Championship Game. While the Chiefs should do well against the Niners running game for the most part, it is unrealistic to think they will bottle McCaffrey up for the entirety of the game.
Christian McCaffrey Prop Prediction #2: Under 18.5 Rush Attempts (-110)
In a similar vein, we expect McCaffrey to go under 18.5 rushing attempts in this contest. McCaffrey has averaged 18.5 attempts per game over the two playoff games for the 49ers over the last couple of weeks. But from a game script perspective, this game should lend itself to a little less action on the ground for CMC than usual.
Our thought process here is that the 49ers will be trailing late in this game, as we have picked the Chiefs to win this game on the moneyline. That will mean the Niners will have to put the ball in the air down the stretch, unlike the NFC Championship Game, where San Francisco fed McCaffrey down the stretch to bleed the clock.
