Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens lost in Week 18 against the Bengals, though they did not put their best foot forward in that game. Baltimore started Anthony Brown at quarterback, and their offense looked about how you would expect as a result. This week, the Ravens should have a different quarterback under center, but the question is whether that quarterback will be Lamar Jackson or Tyler Huntley.
Jackson’s status is once again up in the air for Wild Card weekend, as he has not played since December 4. If he does come back for this game, one would have to wonder how his health and rust would factor into his performance. But if he does not play, it would be hard to expect Baltimore to keep up with the offense of the Bengals.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Ravens in Week 18, but that was not enough to leap over the Bills for second place in the AFC. Instead, the Bengals will take the third seed, which gives them a home game in the first round. Cincinnati made clear in Week 18 that they were not thrilled with the situation that came out of their Week 17 game being stopped, and we could see them play with a chip on their shoulder as a result.
More importantly, the Bengals will play with Joe Burrow as their quarterback for the second straight postseason. Burrow has led his team to an eight-game winning streak, with the Bengals ranking seventh in scoring at 26.1 points per game. Against a Ravens defense that ranks 26th against the pass this season, we could see another big game from Burrow on a big stage.
