Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for just 42 points in Game 5, but the supporting cast for the Celtics stepped up alongside them. Derrick White and Marcus Smart scored a combined 47 points, and will need to play big again here in Game 6.
Jaylen Brown’s play in this series has been concerning throughout for the Celtics. Game 5 was the first time in this series that Brown made more than 20% of his three-point shot attempts in a game. But it will take just one big game from Brown to help the Celtics force a Game 7.

The Miami Heat are up 3-2 in this series, but that feels a lot worse than being up 3-0 like they were just a couple of games ago. Fortunately for the Heat, they have great leadership to navigate times like this, as Jimmy Butler has acknowledged the team’s confidence heading into Game 6. Along with that confidence, the Heat will need to showcase some better three-point shooting to win this game and secure the series.
Role players like Max Strus and Caleb Martin need to have a big Game 6 alongside Jimmy Butler if the Heat are going to win here. The injury status of Gabe Vincent will also be huge for the Heat, as his presence was sorely missed in Game 5.
