- Dallas has lost five straight games coming into this contest, as injuries have really impacted their frontcourt play.
- The Wings are also last in the WNBA in three-point shooting percentage on the year.
The Seattle Storm and Dallas Wings both had high hopes coming into the 2024 WNBA season. But only one of those teams has delivered early in the year, as the Wings have struggled mightily while the Storm are trending in a positive direction. Continue reading for our WNBA betting picks for Storm vs Wings, as Seattle looks to keep climbing the standings while the Wings just look to get back into the win column.
This game will be played at 7:00 PM ET at College Park Center on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
Seattle Storm
The Seattle Storm lost their first two games of the 2024 WNBA season but have bounced back nicely since then. Seattle has won eight of its last 10 games to get to 8-4 on the year, which is good for fourth place in the league standings. Here, Seattle will look for a second win in a row, as they attempt to put pressure on the Minnesota Lynx for the third spot in the W.
In this game, it will be interesting to see how effective the Storm are at using their size offensively. Teaira McCowan and Kalani Brown are both formidable defenders in the paint for Dallas, but the absences of Natasha Howard and Satou Sabally for Dallas will work in Seattle’s favor here. We could see a big night for Nneka Ogwumike and Ezi Magbegor, especially if one of the top-two bigs for Dallas ends up in foul trouble.
Dallas Wings
Things are not going well for the Dallas Wings going into Thursday’s Storm vs Wings matchup. The Wings have lost five games in a row and sit at 3-7 for the season, putting them in 10th place in the WNBA standings. Dallas is banged up in their frontcourt right now, which could negatively impact their chances of coming away with a much-needed win at home here.
Also negatively impacting Dallas’ chances of winning games is their three-point shooting, which has really struggled of late. Dallas is shooting 28.3% as a team from three-point range this year, which is last in the WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale needs to be more consistent shooting the ball given how high her shooting volume is, but she is far from the only one who needs to develop some shooting consistency for this team.
